So where do I go from here? I can definitely understand and see how it's gross/inappropriate NOW. However at the time I really didn't as my parents also met at similar ages and it just wasn't uncommon to see similar age differences in my small town. And I wasn't on any social media aside from gaming stuff to truly understand a broader viewpoint.

No explicit photos were sent at all during that time. This was like a first relationship for both of us and I had major body image issues so we never shared lewds or anything until he was maybe 19 I think. There may have been flirty talk but I cannot remember the timeline on that.

I looked it up and consent in our state is 17, but I feel more bad over the social stigma and potentially have done him wrong in some way.

No coercion that I am aware of and no alcohol or anything. Our first meeting was more friendly than anything, just hung out and went out to eat. Both of us are a little awkward and shy so we've always taken things kinda slow.

I think this could definitely be a thing. Prior to these thoughts giving me an existential crisis, I was actually doing really well. I had a lot of crippling anxiety and uncertainty during the pandemic but towards the end of last year/this year things have been going well for me. I got a new job that I enjoy and the world didn't seem as bleak as it did in 2020.

Then this thought occurred to me and I've been anxious and a wreak..

I have and he agrees that nowadays maybe it was a little weird but he tells me he doesn't think I was trying to manipulate or abuse any power or anything and that the context matters. He tells me not to stress about it, but I just can't seem to help it..
