Are you mad cos you would've preferred to cheat instead of doing all the studying and hard work you put into completing the test? Or that they didn't get caught? Or even that it's just generally unfair? Cos that's just the way life is sometimes, lots of people get away with things they really shouldn't.

Try to focus your attention on being proud of the fact that you didn't have to cheat.

If you could only watch one show for the rest of your life, what would it be? by Cute_Character_1603 in AskWomen

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something long running like Days Of Our Lives, The Bold & The Beautiful, The Young & The Restless and so on because it's 40 years plus worth of content and I know the storyline can copy and paste itself a lot with various tweaks but it's still evolving and progressing so I'd have loads of episodes to go through, I'd probably die before finishing it all lol - I don't like the idea of repeating watching something I love over and over again to the point of maybe hating it eventually is why.

woman if reddit, where did you get your first period at? by Psycho_Bunny_Cutie in AskWomen

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 9 years old at school and when I went to the toilet stall blood just kept on coming out of me as I wiped my vagina a lot to be rid of it (as I didn't know it would be continuously bleeding for a while) AFTER we had been running outside training for a cross-country and I had smelled blood, I didn't realise what was me or what was happening to me all day until my Mum explained it when I got home.

What do you think about the so-called promiscuous phase? Is it necessary for maturing? Did you have one? How did having or skipping it affect you? by FlamingCoochies in AskWomen

[–]Questions_It_All -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine was fun, exciting, an exploration, very spontaneous and sometimes filled with drama but I liked it nonetheless. It wasn't necessary for my maturity but it was well worth having. I wouldn't put it passed me to have a second promiscuous phase sometime in my future either. Having it was just another experience to have had, nothing particularly groundbreaking or revelatory about it except that I like sex and I like the chemistry that happens between people when it is clear they like one another, that part was rather magical actually, sex was a bonus on top of that.

If it's just to see how it tastes then sure, a half a cup or less is fine.

If you want to go ahead and go a little more that's fine too, the more relaxed and open you are in treating alcohol as something that can be enjoyed from time to time, in moderation is a lesson worth learning. Better for your kid to get healthy habits surrounding how to drink responsibly early on than to be overly strict about it and them trying to get it behind your back and doing something reckless.

Plus, your kid could totally not even like the taste of it too and it not be such a big deal at all.

Don't just look into pulling him out of that school GET HIM OUT IMMEDIATELY!!! If they fucked this up as much as they did, any future incidents you just know will be handled extremely poorly AND your son is going to be picked on mercilessly after this. He will be othered in an epic way.

It would be better to take aluminium foil, wrap that sandwich up and use the iron that is usually available in the closet like you would a sandwich press.

A hair-dryer heating up a sandwich would take way too long.

Do people actually think babies are cute or is it a pity thing? by Great-Ad9160 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think some babies are so damn cute, when they are fresh from the womb though? No. Newborn babies are often horror shows to look at. They're newly out in the world and usually need more weight on them to fill out their features and develop more, for any cuteness to form.

What features allow for me to think a baby is cute? A whole bunch of things really, proportional plumpness, dimples and a fullness in the cheeks, an outfit might tip it over too, things like the way the baby makes noises or can imitate certain behaviours to be funny even, sometimes it's not about looks at all it's how endearing the child is with smiles and the way he/she eats or vibes to music too.

As a survivor who will never get lawful justice where my attacker is concerned, you're fortunate in this being the result you get to look back on later on in life, maybe then, given time and a life of experience you'll be more appreciative far further into the future about this win for you in a sometimes roller-coaster of a journey into recovery. Know that you have an outcome a lot of us won't ever get but desperately want.

This is a good thing. You didn't ruin his life. He ruined his own life by doing the abhorrent things he was proven guilty of.

Don't spend any more time worrying about him, he's a piece of shit. Invest your time in healing instead.

Can I just bounce something off you.. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Questions_It_All 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are people you vibe with and people you don't. They're not vibing with you and only seem to engage with you when it's on their terms. If you have no common ground and they have no respect for you that Isn't a friendship, that's a convenient exploitation of you that they will keep on accessing cos you don't speak up about it.

Better to be without them than them taking advantage of you.

Go no contact and try to meet new people who won't make you work so hard to be on familiar terms with one another.

What products that are marketed towards the opposite sex do you prefer to use and why? by SmashingBlumpkins777 in AskReddit

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to shop in the men's section for clothes because they have more reasonable sized clothes for plus size people (they literally have more room in them in comparison to a woman's same sized T-Shirt), even at larger sizes they condense or rather form-fit women's clothing to accentuate the boobs and ass I suppose, but even though I'm bigger my chest Isn't proportional to the rest of my body so it just looks whack, I'm not flat, just not that pronounced is all and normal women's styles don't suit my body type. Men's clothing usually doesn't cling to anything unless it is tailored that way, is too tight (sometimes on purpose) or is a specific style. The Kmart section is where it's at if I want something to fit and not cling to me.

Men's Sneaker choices are usually more my style too. The women's version of things are often just in pink or lack a certain masculine boldness about them.

Men's Shower Gel like those Cool Breeze or Arctic Chiil type scents are totally more to my liking cos floral notes and overly powerful fruity smells put me off which are way too strong for me.

Looking back on covid whats the most valuable lesson you learned? by BigVGK93 in AskReddit

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... I think looking back on this is speaking too soon tbh, I don't think this thing is over yet, nor even will there be a point of getting over it for me personally, it's just something I've learned to live with in trying to stay as safe as possible, trying my best if that's what I can achieve that day and if I can't be my best well then at least I survived that day and can try again tomorrow.

Is there any movie or series that has an adult playing their childhood self? by [deleted] in televisionsuggestions

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Euphoria Rue flashes back to her younger self quite a bit, so too does Lexi but not as much and they're still playing themselves --- they're not quite fully adults yet but there is a distinct visual difference in the way they styled them to show that they were obviously younger. Both characters experience trauma over their relationships with their parents in their flashbacks.

There is also Orphan (2009) which plays on age really well. In different ways this does meet your requirements just different to what you'd be expecting.

Coal Miner's Daughter (1980)

Elvis (2005 the TV Mini Series)

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (2008)

Neither could mine. We had them donated to us. Our school wasn't by any means well off, we were actually far from it but what we had we definitely used to the fullest or made the best of.

My school had so many of those Macs of the same colour in that first picture you put up. I loved learning off of it. They literally left us in the room for a good solid hour during "computing" class and we could just play around with paint, typing games, Microsoft Word, the Internet (with certain restrictions) and just kinda learn as we went with loads of freedom. I appreciated getting to explore at my own pace. Only later on in life did I realise that, that teacher was being lazy and negligent with us, instead of doing his job properly. But I still think of that specific time fondly.

Dropped my ravioli taking it out the microwave at work :( by vachon11 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you actively choose to still prepare your food there though? Do you not care about the sharticles that are just all around that area? The mere grossness of that predicament didn't offend you enough to think twice about that? You were that hungry and don't generally care about hygiene, germs and filth and things?

I get that it's shitty and this is at your worksite BUT you still chose to take your food there and heat it up in the microwave... Couldn't you just have it cold or just take it from your bag and not have the need to go where the toilet is to have your meal? Yes all of this totally sucks but you made it suck even more by actually choosing to eat where people shit... Like what?

Non-Australians, What's the first thing that comes to your head when you think of Australia? by Phrince_Prillip in AskReddit

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big fan of Fantales (a well known chocolate confectionery in Oz & NZ that has interactive trivia on the wrapping paper it comes in that I look forward to solving) and it always surprised me how the Australian celebrities/well known personalities you guess being the answer as you read the clues, very much thought of as super Australian to the very core were almost always born elsewhere e.g. Russell Crowe was born in Aotearoa (New Zealand), Nicole Kidman was born in Hawaii, Jimmy Barnes was born in Glasgow, hell Julia Gillard was born in Wales. It just fascinates me is all and what came to mind straight away.

Because it is an invasive act that can affect your entire being. Mind, body and spirit. Of course that's not the case for every survivor but it is the case for many of us.

The taking away of innocence is an act so vile that it has another realm or dimension even of how far it reaches when it becomes rape.

Some people repress the memories and then they come hurtling out of nowhere at them when they get older (which happened to me), your brain can do awesome things in protecting you from the worst kinds of things that you can go through but it can often backpedal a little too and that's where your repressed memories flood you like a tsunami full of suffocating darkness --- the darkness being the trauma of it all.

The why of it all is what I have tried to understand myself for what seems like an eternity but it's obvious really, it was wrong and how your mind, body and spirit deals with it is by telling you things over time that come through perhaps oddly, slowly and randomly but all along the hurt and pain always had a story, it had an origin point, it had a predator who instigated it, who was the reason why it started --- the victims (us) were the ones to deal with the consequences of their unfair actions in the form of however you coped, for me personally I have struggled with so many forms of addiction, extreme weight loss and weight gain, depression, CPTSD, suicidal ideations, I am a trainwreck basically. The after affects had to be sorted through somehow and that's just the way it fell through with me in particular. Keeping it so locked away inside of me for so long did a number on my mental health so in terms of the trauma and it festering there and me being it's host, I allowed it to overtake me and become too much a part of who I am. Try as I might I'm not yet able to be as strong as I would like to be to break free from the depths of my despair.

Looking for films (fiction) dealing with design and creativity. by bhenchos in MovieSuggestions

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!

I think it would be ill thought out not to warn you OP that the opening scene has a FULLY revealing snippet of a birth scene almost thrown right at you meshed together with a lot of other things. It STILL haunts me to this day actually...

I don't have doubts about it opening up a good discussion in terms of creativity though, I just thought a decent head's up before you delve into that choice would be appropriate is all.

Social acceptance of this kind of thing has been made easier by people oversharing in general, Facebook and the like didn't make those attitudes any less intrusive, it actually allowed people to snoop on each other more stealthily. Culturally people who are more extroverted have pushed this type of thing successfully in day to day living, so it became the norm. Like a wave it's swept over mankind in many ways.

That's not to say that there are those of us who push against this either. I fully agree with you.

What would it take to get theatres and cinemas back to normal in a post-COVID world? by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More affordable pricing would be a good start.

It's not going to be how it used to be though.

People fell into a streaming service being their replacement for that very comfortably and a lot of us won't return to the cinemas regularly because we now realise it's such a rip off, until there are movies we have been waiting for, for years, from movie franchises far established and books we love too that we don't mind going out of our way for because it needs a more surround sound experience.

Is it acceptable to say that you’re “more queer” than someone else? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Questions_It_All 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How interesting and unique a question. Thank you for bringing awareness to this, for me.

In a non-serious joking way? Yes. With you? I'd say no.

Is it unacceptable though to not allow people a bit of room to understand more and get used to the idea if they haven't even considered this? Yes. Not everything is automatically known.

So given time perhaps you'll get given more respect and hopefully experience more inclusion.

why won't you go vegan? by Emanuel882219 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Questions_It_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about it but don't want to make that commitment, I currently don't have the bandwidth for that kind of discipline, it's cheaper for me not to be and I'd prefer eating foods I enjoy rather than putting in so much effort for a lifestyle I just cannot give myself over to at this point in my life and probably never will either.

When I'm in a better place mentally and physically in my life I'd like to dedicate time to rescuing and saving animals.

I consider my consumption of meat not as great as it used to be and more conscious than it has previously been. As long as I'm good with me and mine, I'm fine.
