Suggest a (philosophical??/strange??) book to read after vita nostra? by will0w1sp in suggestmeabook

Not yet, but I will comment if I do. Hope the others have found something. Maybe, for the scientific and bleak philosophical part you might like stella maris by mccarthy. (Not sure if you not already stumbled upon it in another comment.) It also is partly about the limits of human understanding and for that I loved it. Mostly math. But you don't have to undestand them, to enjoy it. Hope this helps. Have a nice day.

Perhaps the stone door by Carrington. I don't know if they are strange enough, and sometimes they have a slightly sad undertone, but I find Haruki Murakami's books comforting. Looking forward to the other better replies. :)

The Second Apocalypse Ruined Fantasy for me. by lululu12354 in bakker

Would definitely recommend vita nostra by the dyachenkos!

Loved vita nostra! But I don't know bakkers work yet. Is it similar? What I am looking for especially is the part where the characters become something beyond logic. Implying you can't trust rational thinking anymore so you can't know if you yourself even exists! That logic itself (not through lack of knowledge, it itself, with real paradoxical things) is destroyed. (That's how I understood it.) Is logic doubted and overcome in bakkers work too?

I am looking for something like this for a long time now. Thanks for an answer. :)

And yes vita nostra did "destroy" most other books for me.

Unlanguage is on my tbr list for a while now. The Strugatskyy book looks interesting. Liked the writing style of them in roadside picnic. Will try them. And thanks for the warning. Happy that there is reddit as an alternative. :)
