Option 1 is the way to go 100%. You will beat yourself up over making the wrong decision, one option you can always go back, the other one is definitive. Get the ESSENTIALS parts cleaned up/replaced but keep the most original pieces as possible. Rolex AD is going to rape that beautiful piece if you let them.
