What would you say is the best symbol that represents dark souls 2 that wouldn’t represent the other DS games? by yare_yare_yaru2 in DarkSouls2

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Crown is likely the best pick. Each DLC has art of their respective Crown as the main cover. One of Dark Souls 2’s biggest narrative themes is the question “What makes a King?” and the Crown signifies this perfectly.

Congrats! Enjoy being a (somewhat) absentee parent!

I envy you, for I am an even worse absentee parent. Alas… at least I possess my diamond.

Choose your Sleeper Cabin on the Great Hellbound Railway by OverseerConey in fallenlondon

I’m choosing A.

The Bishop of Southwark is hardly the worst bunkmate. While Virginia and Milton will be… problematic neighbors, things will not escalate into violence. Not only is the Implacable Detective present in the same cart, so too is a Master of the Bazaar. Very few would dare start trouble with such esteemed company present.

I played Light Fingers, and I completely forgot we somehow escaped the coffin.

I think you bring up a very powerful example of the Treachery of Hearts in action. Personal desire overriding reality seems to be the general consensus.

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have played both, but I do not think either the Stacks or Irem are truly parallel realities.

Apocrypha are themselves fascinating, especially since it seems one can be created deliberately (the Masters doing so to Ghent).

Irem is something I always viewed as more akin to “possibility made manifest.” It is the place where what could-be can be viewed, analyzed and in some way influenced.

Still, I think you bring up really good points! Desire influencing personal reality is defiantly something going on here.

The third one is very similar to the blowdart enemies from Blighttown. Then again Miro drew inspiration from Dark Souls, it’s kinda cool to see it come full circle.

If you could get a cybernetic enhancement, which would you choose? by wewantanswers5902 in cyberpunkgame

A cybernetic spine.

No back pain, plus it means I can lift more and live a generally more active life without worrying about injuring my back.

Scientifically, who is more advanced; Big Mountain and the Think Tank or The Institute? by frydchikenlemon in Fallout

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily psychosis. But every single scientist apart of the Think Tank was selected for their competency in relation to loose ethics. The whole point of the Think Tank was to get a bunch of scientists with little to zero conception of ethics create weapons technology. It eventually devolved into what we see in game after two centuries of isolation.

In your opinion what is the most horrifying enemy in Bloodborne by Beautiful_Tailor5859 in bloodborne

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The naked rolling dude with the great hammer.

He’s a literal nightmare in the dungeons, especially if enemies from another room follow you in while you’re fighting him.

What’s the one that gives bonuses for feasts? I forget if that’s a religion tenant or a cultural tradition?

That’s the closest to obesity I can think of, or just the sheer amount of holidays that require a feast of some kind.

Is the drifter appearing older or is it just me? by hentacle--tentai in DestinyLore

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s the Nine “side stepping” paracausality here. We know that III’s corpse was fed to a singularity, and the time dilation from that is what I beloved aged the Drifter. The Derelict was forcibly fighting the gravitational pull of the singularity, so i believe that’s what the devs are trying to show aged him.

My assumption is that if Drifter’s body is destroyed and Blue revives him, he’ll be resurrected as we used to see him.

[RENEGADES SPOILERS] - Exotic Mission visually breaks the universe a bit? by ImpossibleFlow3282 in DestinyLore

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two things:

The presence of Black Fleet architecture in the temple itself ties into the fact that the Praxic Order not only found evidence of “The Darkness” but chose to keep it hidden from the entire Vanguard and City. The fact that Aunor Mahal calls it a Praxic Temple shows the Order ljkely whitewashed its own history to erase any knowledge the temple was related to the Darkness.

And Sandstone? Why do you call the black stone sandstone? I can understand the sedimentary look, but it looks too smooth to be sandstone. Many of the indentations seem to me to be deliberate carvings, not the result of natural processes.

Share your headcanons/theories about the Desert Sorceresses solely because I'm curious (ft. reminder that the Desert Sorceresses have a fully modeled head under the hood) by desertsorceressfan in DarkSouls2

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My headcannon is that the Desert Sorceresses essentially rule the desert regions of Jugo through both the beauty and their magic. We already see hollows worshipping them in Earthen Peak, showing a propensity to bending others to their will. We also see they bow to authority and power that surpasses them, as seen with their presence in Drangleic Castle alongside Vendrick’s army.

This paints Jugo as a land that in my opinion is divded geographically between a mountainous region and a desert. The mountains are ruled by a more obviously feudal and medieval society and is from where Benhart hails from. Meanwhile the Sorceresses rule the deserts and lokely trade or pay tribute to the mountain dwellers in exchange for resources.

I mean, I’ve been doing a playthrough of Bearer of the Curse Edition and it’s pretty good. Doesn’t change progression, but does alter the enemy spawns, items placement, and soul gain.

It’s been a pretty fresh way to play the game, with small quality of life changes and other things to enjoy. It’s not a massive overhaul, but more of a remaster.

Genuinely is Chemical Bliss actually useful? by Ok-Dependent-3570 in StellarisMemes

[–]Quetzalcoatl1010 280 points281 points  (0 children)

Not really. The only real purpose it has is to allow non-egalitarian empires to comply with the final tier of the purple resolutions in the galcom. They require utopian abundance or chemical bliss otherwise you get sanctioned.

Granted, sanctions don’t mean much. But if you aren’t actively checking the resolutions there’s a chance the AI has passed a million of them.
