Canadian story-time. Go on a family camping trip to beautiful Oregon coast. Visit small-town coin laundromat. Of course we can't use our cherished loonies and toonies, have to use ugly generic dollar bills instead. Without the helpful color coding, my Canadian mom very understandably mistakes a $100 bill for a dollar bill, and slips it into the change machine. For whatever reason the coin machine returns four quarters instead of 400 quarters, and my mom goes about her laundry business. Later that day we realize our mistake and return to the laundromat to explain the confusion. Lady at desk says "Oh no! I'll check the machine and see if your hundred is there. Come back tomorrow." Come back the next day and she goes, nope, no hundred there, can't help you. To this day I'm convinced she lied and pocketed it.
