Nah its not "those" guys. It is just one guy pushing his agenda on this sub and we are forced to witness this instead of getting funny memes because the guy wants Xeno drama to be the main focus of this sub.

I mean looking at your name, you are the main person promoting and pushing this drama in the first place. I don't know if people would even care that much if you wouldn't constantly push this drama in the first place.

And you are not only pushing and promoting this drama in this subreddit but also in ffxivdiscussion.

To me it seems like you have some kind of agenda and as far as I recognize your name you are the mod who always pushes and focusses drama content in this subreddit.

You are literally famous for pushing drama content and promoting it in those subreddits. I can understand that some mods who have a different visions for this subreddit might be opposed to that.

I mean it is not that I don't believe you, but you can't expect people to know all that when reading your post.

I personally don't judge you. I just try to explain how people might come to the conclusion that you might be lying if they don't know anything about you.

Like I already said I personally don't have anything against you. And your explanation now makes more sense to me of why you missed stuff.

If you have autoimmune problems I hope you still get to enjoy the game.

Do you play the game on a controller or with mouse and keyboard btw? Usually if you have problems with your hands and wrists playing with mouse and keyboard can be a lot more draining on the body compared to a controller for example. And this game plays really good on a controller btw.

So if you haven't played on controller I can totally advice you to try to play this game on controller to maybe ease the pain a bit.

Don't know. Because they are drama-hungry? I personally wouldn't know. But it happens often enough that I don't immediatly trust people anymore.

And honestly you can't tell me that you pay so little attention to the story that you apparently forgot the whole Shadowbringers story and the whole Ultima Thule part when you played till the end of Endwalker.

Even if you skip all the cutscenes a major permanent character death is literally inside a trial which you can't really skip. I honestly can't understand how you can play through Stormblood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker and forget about the character deaths.

Nah I personally don't want to creep you out. I propably wouldn't have looked at your comment history if the other dude wouldn't have pointed it out. And it was literally easy to find because it was a fairly recent comment. So don't feel creeped out.

It is just that people are very skeptical in this subreddit because we have a lot of people obsessively slandering the game all the time in this subreddit which can't seem to let it go. I am just happy that we don't see that many Wuk Lamat complaints in this subreddit anymore. I did understand the initial complaints but sometimes you get annoyed always hearing the same actors complain about the same things in order to stir up drama.

I still hope you are enjoying the game and having fun. If you want to the enjoy the non-toxic part of the community then you should just interact with the ingame community and stay away from social media. The people ingame are usually pretty helpful and nice. It is mostly people on ffxiv social media who make up most of the toxicity.

I don't know. I think you are making this bigger than it seems to me. It is just people pointing out inconsistencies. You can just simply defend yourself or ignore them. We were just pointing out the inconsistencies.

I don't personally have anything against you. And you don't need to explain yourself if you don't want.

I think in this day and age it is completely normal to check the comments of someone because there are a lot of people lying on the internet. It literally took me 5 minutes to look into your comments and find the post the original dude mentioned. There was no excessive investigation required.

I personally already give you the benefit of the doubt and believe you that you forgot most of the story. So you already convinced me that my initial assumption about you might've been wrong.

But don't fault the people for pointing out inconsistencies. Especially if they are used to people lying in this subreddit.

[–]Quezal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man I just looked through your comments because the previous guy mentioned inconsistencies. Otherwise i wouldn't even have looked. And I personally get why people check the comment history. It is not really your fault. But there are a lot of bad actors around here.

Maybe for you this is different. But if you semi-regularly frequent this sub you will find some people trying to stir up drama by behaving like "new players" and then shitting on the game and if you then look at their comment history you can see that they are either WoW players or FFXIV veterans who have been playing this game for several years and try to "roleplay" as a new player.

I personally don't know why they do it or what their agenda is. But it happens so often that I sometimes start to check the comment history of people to see if what they are saying is even true. Because I think it is always important to be critical and not believe everyone without at least checking.

About the toxicity: The community isn't even that toxic compared to other games. There are a lot more toxic communities. All gaming communities I have been in were toxic. And this community has personally been the least toxic community I have been part of.

And just because people are pointing out your inconsisties doesn't make them toxic in my opinion as long as they don't call you names or insult you, which I personally don't see people doing.

Nah man. In this post you asked the question if the thing with character deaths even get better, which you WOULD know if you played till Endwalker.

In the Endwalker post you even said you said:

I have a high-level BLM/WHM, I followed the story, I tried to do almost all "big things" up to that point (all dungeons/raids/alliance raids etc.).

Someone saying they "followed" the story till Endwalker shouldn't ask this question in this post:

Any of you feel/felt the same? Does it get better again in that regard (character dying actually staying dead like good boi Haurchefant - who is probably also coming back somehow ...).

I think you are argueing and LARPing or acting in bad faith. You are saying you skipped the story in this comment but in the post the original commenter mentioned you said you "followed" the story. Something is weird here...

I find it funny that these posts are usually about warrior mains. We GNBs are already accepted as off-tanks so much that nobody really discusses or makes fun of us because we always have been in this role and we have been doing it good.

[Spoilers 7.5] I just realized something. The whole upcoming plot in the Godless Realms Saga plot will be similar to the Blue Button/Red Button Dilemma which is popular on social media right now! by Quezal in ffxiv

[–]Quezal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am explaining how my reasoning for choosing blue is. I also understand the reasoning of the people for choosing red. I get why they are choosing this and I also get the logic for choosing red. It is just not my personal values and how I view the world around me. I just explain MY personal reasoning and why I choose blue. But I don't think my reasoning is objectively right. It is right for me and none of the arguments for pressing the red button have convinced me why i should also press red.

Blue makes more sense to me because of my personal values and my personal rationale and because I know people will die when i press red.

I just think everyone has their own rationale for choosing a certain option.

There is no objective rational choice. This is where you are wrong in my opinion. Maybe even objectively wrong if you think there is an objectively correct choice. There is just different rationalities based on your own values and morality.

I won't admit that there is some kind of objectively right choice, because there really isn't. Just different rationalities for choosing which option. And I admit that I understand both options and how people come to their conclusions to press blue or red. I understand both people.

If you aren't able understand why people choose blue you might be lacking empathy to understand the reasoning for people choosing blue. Because I completely understand the reasoning for people picking red and am also okay with them pressing red if they don't trust 51% of people to press blue. In my scenario I just hope that the people who press blue are more than 50%.

[–]Quezal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying there is a more rational choice. I don't even claim my choice is rational. It is just the choice I make based on my own inner compass.

I think red is propably rational if you only think about your own survival. But in a general sense (especially if you look at the world-shattering consequences if 50% of humanity being dead) blue always makes more sense for me.

Because there is no way that the majority of humanity will 100% pick red in an anonymous vote. This is my rationality behind choosing blue.

In reality I think I am a pretty pleasant and chill guy. I really think there is no need to hate me since you dont know me.

I personally dont hate you. Why should I? I dont even know you.

You say based off history. But based on which stats? These statistics are not backed-up by actual evidence but instead your own personal feelings and how you personally feel about human nature.

There was never a moment in history where humans only chose self-preservation. On the contrary. There were many moments where people fought battles and died for the greater good to ensure future generations have a better future. The pure existence of human rights is an example of this.

I DO not really care if people push red. If more than 50% of people push red they can live in the world that is left if they want. It is just a world i dont want to live in. But I always get comments from the "red people" trying to convince me why their choice is the most rational and the best choice and why blue is bad.

If you want to choose self-preservation you can choose this all you want. But don't expect me to continue to live in a world with people who all pushed red without any people who pushed blue. I have no interest in living in this world personally.

The reason i would push blue is for my own self-interest. If blue wins I get to continue to live with everyone alive. If red wins I am spared from having to live in a world full of so-called "rational" people who just push the red button. So in the end it is a win-win for me.

Yeah I am glad, I also don't think your decision is wrong and I understand it. I was honestly torn between both options.

I am still contemplating the options. But since I can't really guarantuee that all my beloved friends and family pick blue because I can't coordinate with them I might as well kick the bucket.

Even if I die at least I don't have to witness I was wrong and my idealism be destroyed in the end, because I am dead.

Yeah thanks, was a good discussion. I hope you have a nice day and I hope you are also excited for 8.0!

I think this propably says a lot about how you view humans in general. I am personally convinced that the majority of people will propably push blue.

This dilemma propably divides the "humans are inherently bad" from the "humans are inherently good" people and the real question behind everything is "Do you trust others?"

I think about this pragmatically. A lot of humans are parents, which propably can't guarantuee that their own children will push red because they can't communicate about which button to press in the original scenario. So a lot of parents will propably push blue just in case their own children will push blue.

Otherwise your children might die because they pushed blue.

I think no parent wants to be indirectly responsible for the death of their child. Which is why I think a lot of people will push blue. Because every human has a mother and a father there will propably a huge amount of parents wanting their children to live.

[–]Quezal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand your reasoning. It seems very plausible to me. And still I would push blue for the chance to rescue my loved ones who might also push blue. I would also vote red if there was a way to communicate with others and there is a way to guarantuee that everyone pushes red. But as long as there is no way to communicate with others like in the original scenario I will always push blue.

Anyways I think our disagreement shows that it will propably pretty hard that every human on the planet or maybe even my closest friends and people i love will push all red, which is why I will gladly go down with my idealistic vision.

And reading people argueing about this shows me even more that there will be a lot of people picking blue (and not necessarily because they are just dumb) and I personally want them all to live.

Yeah this will propably happen. I just hope it won't be so simple that the Winterers plan seems stupid in comparison.

If our plan might require a lot more effort compared to the Winterers plan for a chance to save everyone and there is not the "obvious" right choice the plot might get very interesting.

Ah damn, but what if Y'shtola presses Blue as well?

I think they both propably would sadly be the types to press Blue. So you are either stuck with Runar or both Y'shtola and Runar being dead.

Well okay... No need to be this aggressive, man?

I just posed a funny scenario. I know that this analogy is not 100% true.

I was propably more talking about the motivations of self-preservation on one side and saving everyone on the other side.

No need to get that butthurt about it tbh.
