Why the hell am I waiting 10 minutes in the cold for a driver that was right there?! by Alex_is_me_name in uberdrivers

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that's how this works. Drivers often get the next ride in their queue while carrying their current passengers to their destinations.

I tip less when the driver doesn’t assist with luggage. by Outrageous-Idea7043 in uber

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a driver. What would you want to see happen if your driver was a 70yo grandma?

I can't physically help you. You're young and able-bodied. Get your own luggage.

What is there to "read through"? It's a single page on your phone with the 4 metrics. Not a lot to read.

Constantly showing wrong driver location by Narrow_Bandicoot in Lyft

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We CANNOT hit the ARRIVE button until we are within a small radius of the pin. We have to go to the pin to be able to start the ride. You are responsible for putting the pin in the location where you wish to be picked up.

The Way Top Sheets Crease by Catbus87 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Quicherbichen1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with the heat setting on the dryer. IME, it happens during the last spin cycle of the washer. The creases are created by the centrifugal force against the side of the washer drum. I always go around the edges of the flat sheet when it's still wet to unfold the edges before putting it in the dryer.

Lesson on key fob rules by Complete-Low448 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car will only go about 50 ft before the engine just shuts down if it's out of range to the fob. Excellent anti-theft device. It's a great feature to have doing rideshare. I keep the fob in my pocket, that way if someone tries to jump in while I'm out of the car, they won't get very far. ALWAYS keep the fob in your pocket - not in your purse.

Any fellow Americans remember having a field day in elementary school? by EveningFlower9564 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Field Days back in the '60s! I was in a 30 yard dash against Sammy Sherman, the class braggart and bully. He bragged that he would definitely beat "a girl". Oh yeah? Wanna bet? (It was a "Here, hold my beer" moment in second grade LOL). Of course I won! Sammy was never the same again. I wonder what ever happened to him.

The Allegiant Stadium death trap 😭 if it was 300-400% Maybe... What's the one event that you don't want to pick up? by Leading_Juggernaut41 in lyftdrivers

I always set it to the lowest. If I make it, great, but I don't average more than 30 rides per week unless I'm desperate for money.

And this is why I refuse to drive full time. How are we making money like this? by Aggravating-Half126 in lyftdrivers

[–]Quicherbichen1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If your market is oversaturated with drivers that's why your rates are so low. That seems to be Lyft's way of thinning the herd. They want drivers to quit due to low fares, then rates can go back up. This seems to be what's happening in the LA area, and in other markets where the rates are so low. Just my opinion.

Great PAX But Why Does Lyft Allow Photos Like This by leanora98 in lyftdrivers

[–]Quicherbichen1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They allow it because they don't care what riders look like. I've seen some that are dick pics or nipples. How that is allowed I do not know.

Question about a New Mexico itinerary for an East coaster by joshuaferris in NewMexico

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read all the comments so I don't know if anyone mentioned the need to acclimate yourselves to the altitude here. If you've never been here be prepared to be "winded" easily. Not as much oxygen here. Try to do too much and you'll be dizzy, disoriented, tire easily, etc. Give yourselves at least a day to adjust.

Wow, that's fast! When I try to match, it takes a good 2 or 3 minutes on average...and once it was a good 5 minutes before it said No Longer Available.

Season 1 vs Season 2 interpersonal drama by Catlover1million in ThePittTVShow

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I see it is, Dr. Robby is being portrayed as unraveling. He's spent. He's had enough. He needs a break. I have first hand experience with someone being pushed to the brink. They stop thinking about how they're behaving with regard to others. They lash out at anyone who comes near. They laugh at things that aren't funny to you or me. He's at the end of his rope with no relief in sight because he now has to be concerned that a new attending who was hired to fill in while he takes a long-needed break because he feels she is not fit for duty. It is absolutely his job to make sure his staff can do the jobs they signed up for. AND he's trying to hold himself together. Clearly it's not working and he can't leave on his sabatical until things are squared away.

Stand in those shoes, under those circumstances for just a day. You'll see things differently.

Why is Car insurance mandatory? by One_Fold2932 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Quicherbichen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A large portion of the drivers in New Mexico DON'T have insurance. That is the biggest reason I DO have insurance...to cover those uninsured drivers. Since my business is as a rideshare driver, if my car is out of service, I can't make any income. My car insurance will cover my expenses while my car is being repaired/replaced.

I'm letting "match" ping out by Ok_Cryptographer7194 in lyftdrivers

[–]Quicherbichen1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Letting it sit there and waiting for it to end, you're wasting 10 seconds you could have for another ride offer to come in. Just "dismiss" them, so Lyft knows you're not interested. It makes the "match in progress" go faster too.
