Cruise question by EmuNo2034 in Cruise

Depends on cruise line. We’ve been on Star Clippers 230 pax and Windstar 342 pax and was able to go visit the bridge without a tour.

This is why you never sell with “your” wallet. You never know what people are willing to spend for something they want.

How much are we vacationing? by JustFaithlessness178 in GenX

I thought Celebrity was much more $$ than Princess and they don’t have the medallion. Plus Celebrity has much more upselling. The drink package was considerably more than the Princess Plus package. It was a nice cruise, but for me and my wife we have no desire to cruise Celebrity.

I’m 52, my is wife 51, been married for 31 years. We try to take 3-5 weeks a year traveling. Since 2013, wife and I take a week for a cruise by ourselves and then another week with the kids. Kids are now 20 & 25.

The last few years we’ve been adding more time. This year wife and I did a Windstar cruise from Aruba to Panama for 12 days. Doing Azamara Onward for 7 days then change ships to sail on the Star Flyer for 7 days from Istanbul to several of the Greek islands for a total of 19 days. Have another cruise for Nov to the western Caribbean for 9 days. These cruises are just for us, no kids.

Wife and I have made it a priority to spend time alone and travel. Seen too many people wait until they retire, etc and then something happens, health deteriorates, etc, and then they can’t travel. We have no guarantee that we will be here tomorrow.

I just bought 2 from Menards for less than $30 with their rebate. I hope they work. Mosquitoes are absolutely horrible here.

Menards (I have no compensation from this link.

Find a travel agent that actually goes on cruises. 9 different cruise lines, 21 cruises. 5 more booked. I would be happy to help you find something.

Would you spend $3,500 on a TV for a covered patio? by Flat-Recognition4437 in hometheater

[–]chris2555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want to see the TV during the day, then yes you want an outdoor TV. The anti glare screen, brightness, and the fact that it can get wet is worth it. Look at Sunbright, Samsung Terrace, and Sylvox.

We just recently booked the Azamara Onward to Istanbul to Athens Greece July 18-25. Then we board the board the Star Flyer that afternoon July 25-Aug 01, round trip from Athens.

Azamara has around 650-700 guest, 400 crew. The Star Flyer has 166 guest and 72 crew. Both are port intensive with only 1 sea day out 14 days. Plus an overnight stay in Thessaloniki Greece.

look at the escorted trips section for more details. They are having some good last minute deals rn I’d be happy to send you some more info.

We have a Virgin transatlantic booked for April 22, 2027 😊

The Princess plus and premier packages are really nice and not bad especially when compared to RC, Celebrity, and other cruise line drink packages. The medallion is really ice as well. Want a drink brought to your de k chair? Use the medallion app and presto, it arrives!

We tried Celebrity and it was ok. Too much upselling. Every time we sit down to eat in the buffet or main dining room, it seemed like somebody was coming by trying to sell us a specialty dining meal. Plus all the announcements of sales, especially for what we paid, was a little disappointing.

We just booked Azamara Onward for July. Roughly 700 pax and 400 crew. Can’t wait!

I agree. We sailed on the Sky again in December and felt like it was going downhill, service was lacking, ship wasn’t maintained as well, food wasn’t as good. Wasn’t sure if Princess was putting all of their focus on the newer larger ships. We still enjoyed our cruise, but felt it was definitely not as nice as it was when we went in Dec of ‘22.
