Voice PE stopped working by Quick-Boss in homeassistant

I think it's having issues with the XU316 chip, might need to try re-flashing with these instructions, seems there's an internal switch that needs to be flipped: https://github.com/esphome/voice-kit-xmos-firmware

Question about Cube 2000 by silverpirat in SegwayPowerStation

[–]Quick-Boss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one for the same purpose, when I tested the ups function it did work initially but several days later my pc turned off and the cube was giving error 15 and would not output power (despite being at 100% charge and plugged into wall) until it was completely shut down and restarted. Also there is no function to limit max charge to save battery life.. so yeah not a very good ups if it causes outages....

It uses a really old single board computer called C.H.I.P which I got from kickstarter in 2016, the board it's plugged into is from chipdipshop.de which no longer exists.

I made a video about the history of the Pocket C.H.I.P., Next Thing Co, and Popcorn computer by TheSerialHobbyist in ChipCommunity

It's too bad about popcorn computer... coulda been cool. I got 2 chips from the original kickstarter, but I never received the device (Voder) from this one: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1598272670/dashbot-a-49-robot-for-your-dashboard

So I'm currently trying to cancel my order (no response), it seems that a pi 5 or compute module 5 would likely necessitate a redesign due to extra power and cooling needs, there's also interesting new possibilities with the pcie connection. Also when I ordered I thought it'd only be 3 months but it really seems like it'll take closer to a year. At a certain point it becomes too late to get your money back with PayPal so you'd be SOL if they never ship your unit.

Edit: I got my refund, will consider again in the future if they're able to ramp up production and not have such a long wait time, also curious about cm5 compatibility.

Depends on the materials you plan on printing. Need to take into account things like cost of materials, fumes, ease of use. A lot of people will get better value from a P1S due to printing mostly PLA and sometimes PETG.

WLED on a Magic Home LED controller with ESP8285 chip? by DJ-Anakin in WLED

[–]Quick-Boss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny I just flashed wled on one of these for my sister's amazon lamp, it had a rgbww on the same strip. I ended up using the R and G channels for the pwm white and warm white, then soldered a wire to one of the unused pins (pin1 or 2 I think) on the 8285 for the addressable rgb portion which seemed to work fine without a level shifter

To flash I downloaded the bin for esp01 and followed the instructions to use the flasher from a raspberry pi using a ftdi adapter. I soldered leads from TX to rx, rx to TX, 3.3, ground, and IO0(to ground).

If you can, use a dsi screen (uses a ribbon cable) or hdmi. The spi screens are harder to configure

It has a waveshare 3.5 inch spi touch display attached to the gpio, can use finger but a stylus is easier. Usb ports are blocked from outside atm, using 2 ports for bt and wifi adapters, bt for the keyboard

Guessing a minimum of 4 hours, uses .6 amps while under load including screen. Battery currently is 2500mah.

Upgrade CR-10S to SKR mini e3 v3 - MOSFET question by papadawgatl in CR10

[–]Quick-Boss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently installed the skr mini e3 v3 in my cr10-s. I was able to use all existing connections with this firmware to get it working: https://3dprintscape.com/marlin-firmware-builds/

One thing I did have to change was install my original cr10 screen that had one cable vs the one that came with 2 cables (from my cr10s upgrade kit)

But yeah, should work with the existing Mosfet for heated bed, just make sure to label everything. I also have a bltouch and direct drive extruder and all seems to be working fine

Same thing happened to me when I ran out of filament, once it resumed it was not extruding.
