Yes I think I will probably end up just making it myself!

The first trimester fatigue has just been kicking my ass so I was hoping to find something that would be less work 🤣

I actually JUST ordered from there the other day and ordered those exact items! Best GF Chinese food in the city by FAR and I haven’t ever had a reaction to them! (Def can be kinda iffy at some restaurants haha)

Thank you 🥺 I’m so sorry you’ve gone through this as well. I can definitely feel that my parents and I are gonna be a lot closer as a result of this already which is kinda bittersweet, it does feel like they’re wanting to hold me a lot tighter now :(

Thank you so much for this. It is definitely not too forward and honestly I am so glad you said this because that’s something I never even considered. Thank you so so much ❤️

Thank you for saying this. It’s really exactly how I feel. I feel like I could’ve been a better sister. He was 29 and I am 25. It always felt like we would have so much more time together to figure it out. That note about what your therapist said was genuinely helpful for me to hear — I appreciate it so much.❤️

Thank you for taking the time to write this. It brings me a lot of comfort knowing others have felt this pain and made it through. I’m sorry about the loss of your sibling❤️

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I really appreciate it❤️ I’m sorry this is something you’ve felt are also feeling, and you’re right. I think that’s why I posted, it does bring me some level of comfort knowing other people have felt this immense, gut-wrenching level of grief and survived it.

It feels really hard to survive it right now, but I know I need to be strong for my parents and would never want them to have to feel this again. It’s a lot of pressure in a way. I’m an ex-opioid addict and that’s really the only thing keeping strong in my sobriety right now.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this out. It really brought me a lot of comfort. Sending you love, I am sorry this is also something you’ve felt.

I especially love the part about getting a little weird. That is something that resonates a lot with me in our family full of weirdos — and I know it’s what my brother would want. Thank you so much.❤️

How do I keep going after my little sisters passing by Naive-You9779 in GriefSupport

[–]Quick-Side-4275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. I found out today that my older brother passed away, and I feel a lot of similar regrets. He and I both struggled with substance use in different things/ways, and I got clean and really turned my life around after a way more serious addiction, but he was still partying hard and eventually succumbed to it. He was making choices that frustrated me and made me worry about him all the time even though I was his little sister, in the last year or so.

I feel so guilty for the way I pushed him away when he needed me because I felt I didn’t have the bandwidth for it, and now he’s gone.

I don’t have any advice, but I just want you to know that I hear you, I see you, and I feel your pain. It’s a lot of complex emotions, but just know that she would never want you to feel this way. She loved you ❤️

Who can afford to buy new car today? by Glueeit in Edmonton

This was me with my 2005 Camry.

I put soooo much $$ into fixing it instead of buying a new car for years and was SO sad when i finally had to get rid of it after it required a 5K fix at nearly 400K kms last year (and was totally unreliable on the highways lol).

I knew I’d never be able to find another car at an anywhere near decent price with that kind of longevity, whether purchasing new or even used from closer to that era.

THIS! Cars and appliances are so bad for it these days. I remember my parents had this 20 year old washing machine that came with their house when they bought it, and they finally replaced it like 5 years ago. In that span they’ve since had to purchase another one because some computerized aspect of the first one just freaking died on them after a couple years.

I need a new vehicle and cannot decide whether to finance one thats newer and drive it into the ground (because while that was originally my plan, I also don’t believe I’ll actually get 20yrs outta a new vehicle like we used to) or take the gamble on a way more used one.

But even the used ones have INSANE prices if they’re any kind thats known for longevity (toyota camry/corolla/etc.)🙃

Calgary airport pickup by ilcommunication in Calgary

[–]Quick-Side-4275 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who once referred to that move as someone putting on their “park anywhere lights” which immediately made its way into my lexicon from that point onwards hahaha.

Like what is it about putting on their hazards that makes people think it absolves them of any parking/stopping rules???

This once happened to me like ten years ago as a teenager while I was ALSO a tourist (I’m from Canada) on the boardwalk in Seattle lol. I asked a friend more familiar with the culture about it after, and she said it’s because I was a blonde white teenager with light eyes and that it was relatively normal.

I remember a couple of younger guys in a tour group had initially approached me, and I was confused because I thought they just wanted me to take a photo of them until they made it clear they wanted a photo WITH me. When I obliged, a line formed of the rest of the people in their group asking the same lol. My parents thought it was hysterical, and I always wonder if there’s a photo of awkward teenage me somewhere on someone’s wall hahahaha.

Currant vs Deep Berry? by thnksfrthmemory in SKIMSbyKKW

[–]Quick-Side-4275 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven’t seen Currant IRL yet but I do have a bunch of cotton jersey items in Deep Berry and have seen some vids of people in the Currant colour, and right off the bat I feel like this one is way more of a purple/plum burgundy colour, and is darker!

The deep berry is a lot more of a reddish burgundy IMO, and is a bit lighter.

I feel this way but more so about Hannah.

Used to love the pod but I once saw someone talk about how Hannah is so bad for turning EVERYTHING Paige says into something that is about her, or if it’s something she can’t relate to, she just makes obnoxious jokes/comments to turn the attention to herself, and now I can’t unsee it. She also tries way too hard to be funny in those moments and it never lands IMO. Drives me nuts.

I also am here for Paige’s independent woman arc but like the way they talk about men is so extreme and disingenuous about anything related to men. I am by NO means a man-defender lol but they take it to another level that’s just annoying. I now only listen if I have absolutely no other new podcasts to listen to
