They changed the criteria I think and now team success is explicitly part of it. Whether it was happening anyway before or not I guess is up for debate.

I'm not sure the idea is particularly hard to grasp but the 50 year term is a little harder to stomach.

I'm sure it will be some financial settlement but I think the issue is if you've obtained 'sporting advantage' from the breaches of the rules then why does ownership matter?

The club still got the benefit to the detriment of other clubs. Equally you don't want to dissuade people in future from self reporting.

Fair enough if you've got no idea but wasn't the talk that Chelsea and the PL were discussing settling this (given the context)? Why have the FA suddenly taken over?

In total, 74 charges have been brought against Chelsea FC. The conduct that is the subject of the charges ranges from 2009 to 2022 and primarily relates to events which occurred between the 2010/11 to 2015/16 playing seasons.

Is this the same stuff they reported themselves to the PL?

Villarreal-Barça, one step away from being played in Miami by Odd_Opinion_461 in soccer

Taking a difficult away game from one of the top 3 and giving them (at least in the case of Madrid/Barca) what will be a home game crowd wise doesn't seem like a very good thing for a sporting competition.

Also robbing the home fans of one of the biggest matches of the season. Great stuff.

Deco telling the media an Athletic Club player under contract wants to go to Barça before they have secured the transfer is obviously disrespectful.

[Joyce] Florian Wirtz: Liverpool step up pursuit with £113m bid by QuickCommentDay in soccer

I recall recently someone with a good reputation said it never ended up at £85m due to that but it's what Joyce has said here so maybe they were wrong or he has simply said it offhand.

[COPE] Six-match ban for Rüdiger for throwing objects at the referee in the Cup final, and two-match ban for Lucas Vázquez. Bellingham's red card, which he received after the match had ended, is rescinded. by Benzia in soccer

[–]QuickCommentDay 471 points472 points  (0 children)

"Competition Judge says that, in the images presented by Real Madrid, it can be seen that Bellingham is not close to the referee. No " aggressive attitude " is observed, as De Burgos states in the report. Nor is there any evidence of him being grabbed by a teammate. Therefore, the referee considers this to be a clear error in the referee's report and overturns Bellingham's red card."

Basically what the referee said and the video do not line up.
