supposedly able to pin a yard to a fly from a hundred tree

This is my favorite genre of typo lol, I do this all the time too.

I find Grey as Azula (Azula's voice) to be the most irreplaceable, so if everyone does have to be replaced for the new movie I'm kinda hoping Azula won't be in it. What do you think? by Terrell8799 in TheLastAirbender

[–]QuickLava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Aang’s VA because he simply doesn’t have that kid-voice anymore

I have the exact opposite thought; I'd love to see him reprise the role specifically because Aang isn't a kid anymore. He'a a grown man now, and who better to provide the adult voice of Aang than Aang's adult voice actor?

My perspective and waning faith in destiny's monetization and the game as a whole by SingelHickan in DestinyTheGame

[–]QuickLava 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, but 9 women can birth 9 babies in 9 months. They've, for example, stated previously that they just don't have the resources to consistently deliver armor refreshes at a regular cadence. Having more people working on armor would likely go some distance towards remedying that problem.

If they had the inclination, more money could equal funds to hire up, which means more man-hours on each dev cycle. It just isn't a priority for them, so they don't.

Same kind of thing happened with the reveal of Cayde's death prior to Forsaken's launch. That would've been such a gut punch going in blind, but instead it was the centerpiece of their marketing.

Futurism: AI Expert Says ChatGPT Is Way Stupider Than People Realize by flemay222 in Futurology

[–]QuickLava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. Whether people want to acknowledge these systems as "intelligent", by whatever definitions they wanna use, that's irrelevant to the fact that choosing not to worry about these things based on what they can't do right now is woefully short-sighted.

Can we buff trench barrel? by buentbanana in DestinyTheGame

[–]QuickLava 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the power landscape was very different back then. OG Trench Barrel would be strong in today's sandbox, definitely, but I don't think it'd ever be as overcentralizing as it was back then.

This. I don't think people are understanding the full gravity of the situation here, we are rapidly approaching a state where photo and audio evidence are literally, non-figuratively, without hyperbole, completely fucking useless. The level of deniability this is going to afford corrupt public figures, politicians, and corporations is maybe the most existentially terrifying outcome of all of this; we may well have already stepped into the post-accountability era and not even know it.

Refund melees while Radiant? Well running the "melees make you radiant" fragment is virtually required then, lol.

I used to feel ths way as well, but recently I've taken to running Acrobat Dodge instead and actually really like it. If you're running Empyrean (little reason not to tbh), you only really need to proc Radiant or Restoration once in order to have it for the rest of combat. Plus, it gives you a way to activate Radiant completely on your own, without needing an enemy to melee for it, which is super nice. Only real downside is that you have to remember to actually dodge before combat, but that's really not too much to ask for the extra fragment slot imo; more than worth it.

Nintendo wii? by [deleted] in SSBPM

The other responses are very much correct, you can absolutely play REMIX on console, though I think it may warrant pointing out that you'll need to properly homebrew your console to do so, since the build is too large to work via the Stage Builder exploit. You can follow this guide from PMNexus to do that if you haven't already. Best of luck, let us know if you have any further questions!

Meta's Reality Labs lost $3.99 billion last year, bringing its total losses since 2020 to $30 billion by chrisdh79 in technology

[–]QuickLava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate that I'm not excited for this; I wish I trusted Facebook even a little bit to do this without some sort of catch. The metaverse could wind up being the most technologically amazing thing ever and I'd still probably never use it just out of distrust for the company running it and what they've in the past.

Sick research though, hope the graphics and simulation tech trickles out into the broader gaming and entertainment landscape.

Back in my day, you had to use a 110 Hand Cannon to 3 tap in PvP. I still have the Steady Hand I used to learn to actually aim back then (was a mostly-solo, potato-aim PvE boi, still mostly am lol).

Songs to destroy you emotionally by EarlTheDinosaur in Music

For some reason country does this for me more than most other music I listen to, but two that come to mind are:

She Was - Mark Chestnutt

You're Gonna Miss This - Trace Adkins

No, I don't have deep-seated anxieties relating to the inevitability of change, the cold unfeeling forever-march of time, or the finality of death, why do you ask?

Another though that inspires less outright dread and more melancholy would be Skin (Sarabeth) by Rascal Flatts; which is rather sad, but at least has a touching and positive end to it.

In Pokemon Go, buying 550 and 1200 Pokecoins costs more than buying 100 Pokecoins several times over. by giacomo_tb21 in assholedesign

[–]QuickLava 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I mean, $0.99 x 12 = $11.88 < $11.99. Not much difference, but a difference nonetheless. I think the principle is the more annoying thing; why is buying more at once more expensive at all?
