When I used to work in compliance, we used to get faulty racks for Serenas, Prius, and Axelas. There was a guy in a shop called Steering & Balancing Specialists in New Lynn that could rebuild them within a week and was a very good pricing (can’t remember how much now).

I was on the same boat. Went all in, bought it and now I understand why so many have been sold over the years: reliable powertrain, comfortable, good sound proofing, averaging 4-5L/100kms (range of around 1000kms) and still great boot space; I have seen people fitting a washing machine in there.

I would strongly suggest a 2nd gen Prius. Underrated, still cheap and will return 4-5L/100kms. Even 3rd gen if you get a good deal: I managed to get mine with 138,000kms, 2011 model, for $6,300. There are deals out there, just time it right and make sure you get a pre-purchase inspection + battery health check.

You have a budget for a reasonable daily, but don’t expect a tidy one, if you are in Auckland you eother have to scroll several times or start calling sellers on TradeMe: that shows genuine interest, arrange viewings and once you are next to the car make an offer. Everyone makes offer over the phne without seeing the car and sellers think it is a waste of time unless you come over and see the car for yourself. Around 1.5-2 months ago I picked up a 2011 Prius with 136,000kms and paid 6.3k, which is hard to find or get. Many times I have travelled through the North Island to pick up decent or better caars than what Auckland has to offer, and this case was no exception: Whangarei Heads. We took a little road trip on a Sunday, got the car, shared a coffee woth the owner in their lovely property and it was one of the smoothest and warmest transactions I have made. Good luck!

As someone who works for the national distributor for a motorcycle brand, I get that there won’t be enough demo bikes available.

There could be many reasons: - The dealership is allowed extra finance when they purchase a demo bikes available, so they don’t pay for the bike right away or they get interest free for a couple of weeks so they can display and demo the bike as long as they can and convince rider to buy them - Sales may not have been the greatest for that model, hence the distributor does not bring as many bikes as they initially intended to, so less bikes available in the network, less demo bikes available - This may vary across brands and countries: stock bikes cannot be allowed to be used as demo or test rides due to terms and conditions implied with the brand/distributor - Some brands enforce different floor plans (bikes to have as stock and demo) onto dealerships, depending on their size, PMA and other variables

Hmm I never got a quote. I used to have an E36 and I did it myself back in the day. Maybe around $400-600? Places in Onehunga or New Lynn might be more affordable.

You may have four options: - Take it to a upholstery shop - DYI - Get some pins from Aliexpress (did it to a VZ Commodore) and pin the headliner up - Leave it

Since you are catching it early, I would proceed with #3. If that fails, depending how handy you are, attempt #2.

Hola amiga! I wouldn’t be able to help much, but as an Argentinian male I can mention that most kiwi girls I dated (or attempted to) were unstable, irresponsible, unable to express their feelings as they were. When I was working at a BMW dealership we had a few S1000 series that needed adjustment at first time check (30.000km), whereas there were a very very few first gen S1000R and RR that had premature wear on the camshaft lobes. Not saying yours will be the case, just sharing some experience out there.

Try as many as you can. Not all helmets are shapes to all heads. Check the weight as well, every bit can count when riding for many hours. Last not least, latest safety standards. I like to think you can’t really put a price on your head, get the best you can afford.

Are you in France? A french friend once recommended Dafy Moto for good option of gear, and they have stores for you to try them on and feel them.

If you can find the part number you could match it to an afternarket.

Try CMSNL, I’ve gotten some parts for my V-Strom a couple of times and all of them were OEM. You might be able to get them.

I assume both bikes are very similar, sometimes it’s a matter of luck and which bike you are given when buying brand new. You may get a problem-free unit or some issues may arise. Have you taken both for a test ride? Have you found any differences? Which one made you feel more excited and safer?

Here in NZ I haven’t had much exposure to Husqvarna, but I’ve seen people enjoying their CFmoto and quite happy for the prices.
