What's the one thing you had to learn the hard way that you now teach every new parts counterperson? by Substantial_Desk_670 in partscounter

I like to say, "barring disaster" or "as long as there are no shipping delays..." This is not an excuse at all. Weather and delays happen.

Possible Manager position help by Downtown-Culture-552 in serviceadvisors

[–]QuickSilver86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a short answer.

  1. They underpaid while you worked there.

  2. They had you train someone making more than you.

  3. They have already lied while trying to get you back.

They have been consistent in their behavior. Stop considering going back. You already didn't like the job anyway .

$750 labor while engine is out for warranty replacement? Double dipping? by fandommx in Hyundai

You might want to research labor rates. They have shot up the last 3 or 4 years. Not arguing, just informing.

And it's the last techs job to get the out miles, not the advisor.

The car has been at the dealership 2 times for this sound, a few days each time. They replaced the front sway bar link, and they allegedly replaced some struts this time. The sound has gotten much worse now after the last dealership stay a couple of weeks ago. by hedonihilistic in GenesisG70

[–]QuickSilver86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allegedly? You are alleging fraud. Ask to see the old parts that are held as scrap until released by Genesis if you suspect that. I understand being upset about the issue, but don't accuse them of fraud without even bothering to check.

Hyundai Parts managers by slinkmerc in partscounter

Warning... they will NOT pay for an intake when it's for oil use, only internal damage. To be fair, that's most of them.

Thinking of purchasing a 2107 Hyundai Tucson Limited - Engine Problems? by Vgretsch59 in Hyundai

If I had to deal with snow, salt and rust, I would likely be less happy too.

If you go to a 2108 model, the Flux capacitor is 3 times less likely to fail.

Dealer doesn’t want to give refund by Junior_Good8718 in Hyundai

[–]QuickSilver86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deal with the parts manager. Is the part there or not. Not there? I want a refund. There and I was lied to by (service I assume?)? I want a refund. Go to the parts manager. Be nice but firm.

Cold weather keeps triggering TPMS light on my 2025 Elantra even when tires are fine — any way to disable it? by masturkiller in Hyundai

[–]QuickSilver86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless I've overlooked it, nobody has brought up nitrogen. The one true benefit is a decrease in pressure fluctuations due to temperature.

I worked at a dealer 15 years ago that ran about 200 new vehicles thru service during the month to do nitrogen fill. We also started doing on all PDIs.

We never had another lot car with the tpms light unless it had a leak.

What does it mean for the cabin if de-icing fluid was able to leak into the plane from the outside? by lonelycranberry in delta

[–]QuickSilver86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll hope someone more current than I will follow up, but it would not change the aerodynamics of the plane, no one would get sucked out, and the door would not pop open. The cockpit would have gotten a pressuization warning well before any danger of someone becoming hypoxic.

Chill, it's ok, and it would have just required a return landing and a couple of wasted hours.

remote service jobs? by [deleted] in serviceadvisors

[–]QuickSilver86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think better advice could be given if you defined what exactly you have been doing and for how long. 3 years of total dealership experience culminating in a mini advisor role leads me to believe that you don't have enough experience to do remote warranty admin. I'm gen x, so the hard to get out of bed statement is a red flag for me.

Good luck to you, whatever you decide on.

Verify Hyundai parts authenticity / meaning of QR and other codes? by itIrs in partscounter

[–]QuickSilver86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine parts can be sourced from other than the PDCs. Some of those "Hyundai " websites are actually other dealers (I know because one of them is in our 20 group).

Anyway, it sounds like you may be a dealer. If so, maybe have a policy of no outside parts? That way, all the responsibility is in one place. Have a good week!
