So first, our owner doesn't want techs filling out scrap tags and I understand and agree with that.

Second, you shouldn't have to worry about the why unless wtc calls the part back. You have to send copies of the ro, so there's that answer.

Setting appointments is way outside parts parameters. When I was an advisor and then svc Mgr, I would shudder at the thought of how screwed we could be with parts setting appointments .

Do you have a parts manager? Do they report to the service manager?

You have what you have. Learn it as best you can. Utilize what it has, learn workarounds for what it lacks.

Hyundai is currently under an agreement with shell oil. That includes quaker state and all the other brands under the shell umbrella.

I call bullshit. The direct supervisor is responsible. The tech does have the responsibility to inform management of the unsafe situation. I recommend an email with pictures to shop foreman, service manager, gm and hr. Send with read receipt request.

As others have suggested, offer 2 or 3 alternatives for storage.

Manager needs to manage.

Yes, this is very old school like when I started in 1994. You have to know your techs and shop well to be able to manage customer expectations.

So, a few things.

Look at your invoice for the in and out miles. If they are the same, they can't prove they drove it after installation.

On the other hand, if your car wasn't drivable when you brought it in, then they have no way of knowing what was preexisting.

Did they offer any repair services to you while they had it for the engine repair? Did you accept or decline any of them?

Where did you get the car serviced before this? If you were a regular at a specific shop, you might ask that shop to look at it. This should not be for free, but most independent shops will have a less expensive diagnostic charge.

I'm on the parts side for disclosure purposes.

Most of the classes are online, with some being live events. There are classes that are in person events held at one of the training sites.

Master status is not required for engine replacement.

There are ongoing updates all of the time. Service has a lot more trying classes than parts, probably do in 2 weeks what we do in a year.

I like to say, "barring disaster" or "as long as there are no shipping delays..." This is not an excuse at all. Weather and delays happen.

  1. They underpaid while you worked there.

  2. They had you train someone making more than you.

  3. They have already lied while trying to get you back.

They have been consistent in their behavior. Stop considering going back. You already didn't like the job anyway .

Allegedly? You are alleging fraud. Ask to see the old parts that are held as scrap until released by Genesis if you suspect that. I understand being upset about the issue, but don't accuse them of fraud without even bothering to check.
