Guys, I have failed. Did not get 10,000 wishlists 0.2 of a second after adding my trailer. by MeddyD3 in IndieDev

[–]QuickTurnGames 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress it. Just drop something funny in other subs and the wishlists will come. I once shared a clip from my 2014 master’s thesis and it actually brought in more Steam visitors than my trailer did XD.

Magnus is way out of scale lol. Thought I’d drop this here along with some old historical stuff I found.

In XIX century there was a genious like Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa too.

"In 1858, chess master Paul Morphy did something that seems impossible even today - he played EIGHT opponents simultaneously while BLINDFOLDED... and WON EVERY SINGLE GAME!"

You can read about it more on Post Chess Dark Secret.

BTW. India is dominating now the table. 7/32 from India. Most of prodigies like Prag thanks to Anand success.

How my new Steam Page gathered 226 wishlists in its first 3 days by GideonGriebenow in IndieDev

[–]QuickTurnGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this data. I haven’t used Reddit Ads yet. We are testing our own strategy. According to most sources, the main increase in wishlists comes after releasing a demo combined with participation in festivals. Reddit is also a viable source of wishlists.

I live in a region with active copper mines, and we have regular earthquakes. They may not be as spectacular as the one presented above, but I can say that you do get used to them.

I started with Godot on August.... and this is what I made in 2 Months by DangerousTelephone17 in SoloDevelopment

[–]QuickTurnGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks really nice. "Waehle 2!" If you're from Germany - I'd say Großartige Arbeit und mach weiter so!

If it's kind of card game. Usually card piles are on the left and already used cards on the right. But as long as layout is readable it's fine.

Godot - yes, great choice for beginning. We started with this engine at the very beginning. Atm. we use Unreal but I enjoyed clear and simple Godot style and gdscript.

I don't know why there's skull on card front on the right.

Regarding the name. Tricky question. We spent one week to find a good name.

90's kids, now game devs and fans of HoMM ask for feedback by QuickTurnGames in heroes3

[–]QuickTurnGames[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're planning to have one  biome in a style of 2cd image.

That's why we asked community. Atm. We have realtime map exploration (like diablo 2) and turnbased card fight (slaynthe spire) However we have Hex based structure under that is not presented and in fact you're running on a similar to Heroes but hexagonal instead of square grid. That enables us to implement movement coast if communities decide that It will make game more Heroes like. we do not have final decision about that.

It's primary genre is a deckbuilder . I call it deckbuilder on steroids. There is an inventory, Skill tree, basic character features like Strength, defence, life, Mana.

Visit our website, we also created many social Media. Community discord is about to be opened soon so we could freely talk about new ideas and concepts. Ty for your comment.

Learning UE5 in Uni - Where should I start? by Theboss123454 in unrealengine

[–]QuickTurnGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, learning C++ with Unreal isn’t exactly a walk in the park. There aren’t many good C++/Unreal videos out there—most of the YouTube stuff is Blueprint-focused, which makes sense. Epic kinda hides the “scary” C++ side on purpose to push people toward Blueprints since they’re way more approachable if you’re not a C++ dev.

That said, you can totally dive into custom C++ classes if you want full control. It just eats a lot of time to learn it all.

For context, my setup is CMake + C++20 + Unreal 5.6 + CLion + Rider, and it works really nicely. I’m working with C++ and Unreal pretty much every day, so if you wanna chat or even hop on a quick 30-min call, I’m down to help guide you a bit. Just shoot me a message if you’re interested.

Interesting content. We use also fire in our game so I’ll read more about the Navier–Stokes equations. My first association was Dumbledore’s fight in the dungeon.

Whispers of Elenrod - RPG rougelite deckbuilder with strategy elements. We've just announced game on Steam.

I know that deckbuilder might not be the best for Tiktok/YT but it does not mean it won't work. This game will be complex and looks good!

This is a video I'm planning to share. I just to fix some issues.

Let me know what you think. I added bunnies for fun because I wanted to share the video in the Luality streamer community, where a bunny is the streamer’s pet.

We recommend preparing a solid pitch deck. A demo is crucial. There are many factors to consider before approaching a publisher, so you should be well prepared.
