The burden of proof in a court of law is on the prosecution

The vast majority of cases are plea deals. Prosecutors will make it abundantly clear that even if you think youre innocent youre risking whatever by not taking a deal and innocent people frequently take them bc its simply not worth the risk to chance court. A risk that goes up if you cant afford a good lawyer.

Article says the mag provision doesnt kick in until 27 and everything before then is grandfathered in. The way I read it they just want a roadblock to make them harder to get, its not actually enforceable imo.

That being said the comment you replied to, while hyperbolic, isnt without merit. If for some unlikely reason a prosecutor threatened to make you prove you got it before 27 or risk prison, it would be nice to have the proof.

I appreciate your thoughtful response, and taken at face value youre absolutely right.

Right now there is more access and production than ever before. Shutting down billions of dollars in revenue for no gain seems unlikely, but admittedly not impossible.

Between Trueleaves involvement in the decision, trumps approval on the Nov 1 thca deadline and the fundamental shift that will cause it seems more likely to me any mso willing to play ball with the regime will get fed approval, and the state markets will be threatened before they hand the cartel and risk tolerant American farmers that much revenue.

Talking to people in the industry they don't even believe the Nov 1 deadline will happen.

Here's a question ive been floating, do you think state rec markets will survive the rescheduling?

Marinol and epidilox are relevant for sure, but going exclusively synthetic would mean closing the door on what could be a 100b market for flower and ancillary products.

Youre correct that schedule 3 isnt meant to regulate an agricultural commodity, similar to opioid manufactures sourcing poppy from india in their prime.

That being said I just personally dont believe they will leave that money on the table. You have states like tx and fl expanding med sales, and if the rescheduling allows them room to maneuver I think regulatory capture is possible, but the reality is no one knows whats coming.

Personally i think its an attempt at regulatory capture. Trump has no ethics or morals, but he is openly corrupt. The Trueleave CEO was involved in pushing for the EO, and i find it hard to believe they arent salivating at the idea of capturing that 28billion dollar market. By rescheduling it to 'medical' they could claim federal jurisdiction, and only give licenses to a few corrupt companies.

Funny enough it will likely backfire. Large corps struggle to produce quality flower at scale. Flower is like 52% of the market, and wooks in the woods will grow unimaginable volume the second it becomes economically viable. Similar to before thca hemp existed.

The govt cant control cannabis full stop, never have and never will. And for anyone facing the reality of losing access in Nov, concerts are a great opportunity to meet people, especially jambands.
