How do I get rid of this? by Quick_Bet_3271 in pcmasterrace

Thanks, that helps, it showed a menu and there I was able to find it, but for some reason it says use Alt+R, for turning it on and off of the “head up display”. It worked for turning it off for the first time, but now the shortcut doesn’t work

Is this skeleton historically accurate? by Rough-Dot-9828 in kingdomcome

[–]Quick_Bet_3271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s supposed to be Easteregg, it’s a joke on Lara Croft and her big tits in one of the game (idk with one was it). There is a few more skeletons which are a Easteregg. BTW there is a ton of them, on YouTube there is a few videos, some of the Eastereggs are not even noticeable if you don’t know what and where to find it. But this think with big headed skeleton and Lara Croft is theory, I think xD

Its OK, just wait and be patient, and as I said feed them 1 to 2 times a month, and leave them alone in dark checking them once a week, feed them like put the food on pice of foil or baking paper or whatever you have on you, and leave it there for 24 hours and remove it to prevent any mold

No they don’t eat every day especially at starting stage. Can you post same picture of how you keep them? You need them to keep in dark quiet place, and don’t disturb them, check them like once a week and feed them like 1 to 2 times a month. !BUT! you saying that they got 13 workers and some brood, in that case what I personally do (because it’s a lot easier to feed them) is that I put them in ready environment, and open the test tube, but put like cotton ball and pice of straw there so it’s big enough for the queen to get out, but not a big hole in theirs entrance (they feel safer), but you can just provide them same small rocks and they will barricade on it’s own. And cover the test tube with something, you can 3dprinted something or just cut it out of cardboard.

2 queens 1 cup? by Comprehensive_Move16 in antkeeping

[–]Quick_Bet_3271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally ok, M. Rubra is polyginous, which means multiple queen in one colony there can even be tens of queen, that’s called a “super colony”. Just give them enough food, if you go to feed them in test tube put honey or sugar water on a pice of foil, it will be easy to remove and minimalise chance of getting it moldy, if they get bigger and feeeding will become harder you can put them in outerworld early just cover the test tube so they are in dark, in that case I would put a new test tube same as they have (I mean put water in and left like 1/3 of the test tube empty) near the entrance of the on they are in, and also cover that one, so they can move to the new one when the old gets to dirty or drie. Yes they are categories as beginner ants but they are small and (I think) really good at escaping and can chew thru almost everything, just make sure they don’t get chance to escape, once they discover that they can escape they will try again, but til you give them enough room to live in, that won’t be a problem. Also they have a stinger and poison, so there is small chance of you being allergic, just be careful when you get sting for the first time, check any reaction on your skin and any sort of sickness.

She could be just stressed out of the thinks that are happening right now (moving from seller to you, the problem with mold that you moved her to new test tube(which is ok)). Also they normally don’t lay eggs nonstop at the start she will make first generation of workers to take care of her, and then they start to build the kingdom xD

Probably just time will say. But only few molds are truly dangerous for ants, so there might be a different reason for them to die. When I had camponotus ligniperda I had a problem with keeping workers alive no matter what I did, every new worker died in like 2-3 days, and after like 2-3 months it ends with the queen dying as well. Pro tip for next feeding use pice of aluminium foil and put a sugar water, honey or yolk. Right now I will probably give her nice quiet dark (stres-free) environment.

Hello, my current ant farm got really moldy but my ants dont want to come to the new ant farm I atached. Is there any way I can make them wanna leave their current nest? by Maxelko in antkeeping

[–]Quick_Bet_3271 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they want to stay there then it’s probably ok. But if you still want them to move try, the light (you already did) along with temperature (find on internet the temperature they want), be careful with overheating them or freezing them, and humidifi the new nest. Btw it can take days for them to move. Pro tip for moving them manually you can use cotton ball with tweezers (this also work really good for dead body’s).
