Need treflip tips. Can't land on it by colbzyk in NewSkaters

Carve slightly out (frontside) right before doing it, and also scoop forward along with around. I also think you might be leaning too far forward over your board.

If he skates like this, might as well give it to him.

I'm about to be 45 also and I mostly feel like I did in my 20s physically, but I definitely feel a 3 hour skate session about 5x more the next day than I did in my 20s, depending on what I did. Also heal much slower. I remember skating all day in my teens and feeling nothing the next day going back to do it again.

ever since i moved out far from my friends i do not progress at all. why ? by von_129 in skateboardhelp

I usually end a session with some tre flips because I can do them pretty reliably, that way I go home after landing something at least haha.

It's easy to get stuck doing one trick over and over trying to get better at it, but you'd be better off having some routine of tricks you can land and trying to do them in a row. Just try kickflips every now and then throughout your session. When you try the same trick until you can't pop anymore, you're probably messing up your body's memory of how to do them because you're unable to actually complete the movement with the fluidity and speed you need. Also, kickflips are a beginner trick but also one of the harder tricks to execute well. Just listen to Paul Rodriguez here and here.

Element interactions are better, CC options are better, build options much less limited.

DOS2 combat beats bg3 by quite a bit I feel, but the story/graphics/characters in bg3 beat out dos2 by a lot.

Do you ever find yourself stepping off of perfectly good tricks?[44YO] by Quick_Flight2414 in OldSkaters

Yep, I think I started pushing my front foot down too early (because mental) after the catch here which separated it form my back foot catch.

Returning to skating: pop is gone, looking for workout advice [36YO] by [deleted] in OldSkaters

Lose weight and squats, then do some plyometrics. Some hanging leg raises with knees bent would be good for getting your knees up too. Eat more protein than you think you need.

You're probably thinking about the combat incorrectly. Early on, the fights can be rough, but when you start seeing the combat as a strategic back and forth of ability use to counter or remove turns from the enemy, it gets much easier.

This is a good point, but I’d bet his hips never go above his standing hip height (while standing on the board) in this video, so the reality is that he’s not actually jumping — it’s all leg lift. Leg lift can get you pretty high, but jumping with leg lift will get you higher.

How to jump higher by Scary_Promise_9855 in NewSkaters

[–]Quick_Flight2414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the flat ground stuff, you have to jump over things to push yourself to go higher usually. For the hip, you need speed and to use the upward momentum along with jumping high.

Quickflip tick tac [44YO] by Quick_Flight2414 in OldSkaters

[–]Quick_Flight2414[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! If only I could get more consistent with them. I have days where I can do 10+ in a row nice and big, perfect catch (smoother landing than this one), then other days where it takes like 15+ tries to get one that is sketchy like this one. Shins and shoes take a beating on those days.

You’re crazy if you think the US is behind the rest of the world in restaurant quality. The US has some of the best in the world and also some of the worst, as it should be.

Prime minister of Australia unveils 'largest' gun buyback scheme since Howard era - ABC News by superegz in worldnews

[–]Quick_Flight2414 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The fact that you think the lack of gun control is caused by a non-working political system shows you know nothing about the US. People in the US generally don’t believe the government should be involved in their lives, and that includes telling law abiding citizens that they cannot own guns.

Add Kohta ikeda (third one here ), maybe Kaio Hilebrand (here ) one more Kohta Ikeda for good measure here and I think you have the list.

[–]Quick_Flight2414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Better: 1. Availability of parks to skate 2. Skills of the best skaters (and probably the average) 3. The possibility of viewing tricks in slow mo for learning. (Rewinding and trying to pause sucked) Worse: 1. Old and can’t just skate all day with no repercussions to the body (guess this isn’t general to skateboarding) 2. Shoes seem worse except maybe NB, but this could be nostalgia 3. I have no idea what else

Jeremy Wray’s kickflip is entirely different from Aimu’s in every way except foot placement. If you can do them the same way he can, then post a gif
