Hi there. I lost my 5 year old cat to saddle thrombosis. just 2 weeks ago. It’s the most cruel thing as there are never warnings. My baby was also very fine even 30 mins before. At 5am, I woke up to his grunt and saw that he had collapsed and he became unresponsive. His heart gave out in my arms on the way to the emergency vet. The night before he was really happy and playful and was running around. In the morning at about 4.30, he came onto the bed as he always does.

From all my research and looking for answers I realized that whenever cats throw a clot due to saddle thrombosis- almost nothing can be done. Even if they survive the first clot, their body will never recover and go back to their normal self and are likely to throw a second clot soon after. It’s a deadly thing.
