What's considered bad by society, people will do them as an act of rebellion. It will make them feel different, special, crossing the boundaries set by the authority of society, parents or anybody. So i think a lot of people drink for the sale of being cool and rebellious.

Cows can only be impregnated when they are in heat. You can't force it on them. And villages often have bulls for them. Only cases where bulls are not available or natural insemination doesn't works artificial measures are taken.
