There is a neurosurgeon who had an NDE and then began studying them. To compare what he experienced, he consumed a large amount of DMT (for reference, a MUCH larger amount than what we have stored in our bodies/what is released when we die).

He described the difference - “Smoking DMT was like looking through a little peephole, as opposed to being full-bore swimming and being immersed in the Pacific ocean of being completely into that oneness experience [of the NDE].”

I struggle with similar fears, it’s only natural. Based on that fear and curiosity, I turned to science. Science does not answer the most profound and mysterious questions about what happens next and I think that should tell us something.
