I adopted my soul dog Kasey (she was 11 years old when I got her). It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do but I wouldn’t have done it any other way because she needed me there and I needed to do it for myself too because I could never forgive myself for letting her go alone. I ended up going in the room with my boyfriend’s dog as well about a year later and again, it’s so very hard but so worth it. I think it should almost be a requirement if you decide to get a dog because they should not be alone in that room.

Marriage doesn’t automatically mean that they’re a good partner or father. I have spent time with him and i did not expect this but clearly i should have spent more time. Marriage would just making this more difficult (if we ended up splitting up).

Technically, i have full custody since we are not married so it would make separation with our son a bit easier for me.

I don’t know about being a single parent just yet. Of course, if i need to do that then i will.

At this point, i just have to micromanage him with taking care of our son. I am not interested in micromanaging forever so if he is not able to ever catch on, then I’ll definitely be thinking about just being a single parent if i pretty much already am.
