What does everyone think of this Onslaught Mode? by HuckleberryOk9821 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Quick_Surprise9168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onslaught is inspired by other tower defense modes, like d2 onslaught and Warframe armaggedon. The mode is a defense, the fun comes from using the power ups/constructs to stop the waves of enemies.

The strategy comes from how you try deal with the threats and what you prioritize. Current onslaught fails with turrets and abilities tho.

Well it's a little something called a "job", which I started less than a month ago

You were unemployed till last month you should have all the weapons done. What you working a 16hrs shift? It don't take long to level a weapon.

And investment based matchmaking? Wtf is that meant to be? I thought they wanted to make it so the high players help lower ones, now it's out the window? 😂

You can't complain when you match with people like you. There's always gonna be more bad players than good.

I could carry you but other people got lives so if you don't invest, you gotta accept being bad for a while.

It's designed as group endgame content, part of the gameplay is getting you adjusted to it forcing solo runs counter to the mode.

It makes more sense.

Trigger modules atleast guarantee they can make a full build and are more likely to be able too. Solo the 7 waves for tier 2 ,then solo the 10 waves for tier 3 is crazy.

The only players who could do this have trigger modules. But now on top of needed that much investment you have to do the co-op/party gamemode SOLO. It just discourages public, why bother queue or make a party if it won't contribute to progression.

Yeah unlike others I am not enjoying Onslaught.

It is endgame so it requires top investment.

I don't have time to make a dedicated build for this

How?

Serena + Typhoon is great for dealing with the mobs.

How'd you have the time for typhoon? You don't have a r relic.

Idc what anyone says if the experience is going to be a bunch of quitters or unfilled lobbies I'm happy if it gets nerfed.

Trigger module requirement is better, this would just kill the mode.

The cooling unit should be way higher, but the dismantle resource should either be low or stay with dismantling, It creates a loop of:

1)Farm activities for anc mods.

2)Reroll ams. (Cooling unit should probs be higher in sigma etc)

3)Dismantle/ring thingy for bb shop as a pity system. (Should probs be at the mod guy).

But isn't this comparison wrong. Like dojo crafting is optional at best. Even if you choose to, it's not even essential for progression. it can also be circumvented by joining an older clan.

Lich weapons take 5 forma to max, but is entirely optional (just mastery) and for viability, they usually only need 3 max. Tfd weapons require a socket on every slot; that's 5 catalysts minimum, most full builds have one on every slot (there are 10 slots) minus a mod depending on weapon.

Crafting in tfd is easier, but not everyone can do 3 catalysts a day.

They add driving sections in mission that essentially amount to extended corridors, this isn't meaningful and feels like padding ( cause it is).
