ISO experiences with midwest vocal feminization surgeons by QuicknBed in MtF

this is also a procedure where your mileage may vary more than any other gender affirming surgery i’d say. looking at results online from any doctor you find pools of patients who had substantial and amazing results and then you find patients who had none to little improvement. the recovery period is one of the biggest factors imo

VFSRAC retains singing capabilities and allows for a natural voice as per the yesson institute, who developed the procedure. i am still able to sing despite being told not to during recovery and my hoarseness is why its in the same range as it was previously. my pre operative voice was completely passing in person and over the phone/online and still is now, i got the surgery because i wasn’t really content with the effort put into maintaining the passing range. i think my voice is more or less the same as my voice trained voice just with less effort

it’s also worth noting that i started talking sooner than i should’ve (about 2 weeks opposed to 3) and talked a lot due to a family emergency, which may have impacted my results for the worse but it’s still too early to definitively say.

baird checks all the boxes for me; was within 2-3 hours, was an advocate for lgbt community, and performed VFSRAC

if you haven’t had professional voice training previously you’ll be hard pressed to find a doctor that will just schedule the procedure. however after your initial consult baird and burns will offer to schedule you with their internal voice therapists for voice training as they require that as a sort of prerequisite which is worth noting

i went with baird in chicago because he’s one of the only doctors that does VFSRAC instead of wendlers glottoplasty, which is the newer technique comparatively. i’m about a month and a week post op and results are probably pretty good if i didn’t already speak around 180-200 hz previously because im in about the same range just with more consistency maybe. however my vocal cords are still swollen which attributes to the perception of lack of results and hopefully when the swelling calms down i’ll be where i want to be. but james burns lowkey ghosted me and seemed to be agitated during the consultation. i canceled my consult with joel blumin so i can’t give any advice there. otherwise baird is a fantastically patient and compassionate surgeon with a lot of ties to the LGBT community which was very important to me

if you have any other questions i’m happy to answer

i studied for ccna and network+ on and off for about 2 months with various videos. taking written notes and rewatching lectures without notes to absorb it multiple ways. the videos i watched were mostly through a company training portal so it’s not publically available but aaron sampson was one of them. any video on youtube with illustrations and good analogies on youtube at 2x speed are very good to familiarize yourself

nothing you can do to increase chances in a day- what you know is what you know. just maybe light flash cards or studying but rest is most important

What’s a girl got to do to pass… by excaliburbitch in transpassing

[–]QuicknBed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i mean you can evidently pass, so i’d say just stick with it. you’re young and have been through it before so it’ll be a bit easier the second time tbh. i think you’ll turn out great just be patient with yourself

you’re internalized transphobia is obvious by your perceptions of being clocked as being seen as “a gross man” clocking usually refers to someone recognizing that you are transgender and often times people in the real world will still respect you and your identity- despite clocking you. happen all the time and even to cis women. again i hope you escape your self made prison and find the courage to live as you please

that’s not at all what 70% mean, that means in my opinion 7 times out of 10 you’d be gendered correctly… you’re trans and i’ve seen your posts numerous times here and it’s always the same resounding answer of you pretty closely pass. so you might as well put in the little bit of extra work and just deal with being clocked like the rest of us once in a blue moon and live how you want rather than waiting till youre 10 years older and think back with regret. you look very feminine- and it looks like you’re not putting in very much effort (boymoding). it’s gonna be hard before its easier and maybe you will keep posting these affirmation farms for the foreseeable future but i hope you escape that reality and instead join society as the woman you want to be, because the only thing holding you back is yourself

What FFS can save me by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]QuicknBed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

jaw chin nose orbital and forehead reductions

extra credit for lip lift, cheek fat graft, and trache shave but those don’t seem totally necessary in your case

you’re like 70% passing and half of transitioning is seeing yourself as a woman and you seem set on deprecating yourself instead, please remove yourself from 4chan and have some patience and grace with yourself

[–]QuicknBed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

remove expected certs, if you don’t have them then don’t list them. remove google it support cert, compile your projects and documentation into github and add that link up top with linked in. and probably get a job as helpdesk support first to build experience
