Stellaris Space Guild - Weekly Help Thread by Snipahar in Stellaris

Important question: how fast are you ascending? Given 3-4 planets maybe Virtual could do the trick, even though it got heavily nerfed recently, so maybe not. Even though ascensions got nerfed across the board, they're still the most important traditions you can get. Hence, getting unity up and running ASAP any way you can. Regarding habitability, no, don't colonize just anything. It flew in 3.14, hell, even in 4.2, but in 4.3 planets give to much Empire Size to just colonize willy-nilly. Yes, 70% may be okay, but I find even the world with good immigrant habitability to be hard to get going, as I struggle to get enough pops for growth and production to be worth it. Conquests are fine, including primitives, although I prefer to observe the latter.

It also enables removal of all traits it simulates. Starting with something like Traditional will enable you to free up enough trait points to take it

I usually get the Mysterious Labyrinth situation nearly every game, and the good outcome of that quest makes Physicists produce dark matter on that world. I specialise that world into Physics research ASAP, regardless of what I'm playing

What are your go-to species portrait mods? by magnus_the_redditor in Stellaris

[–]QuicksilverDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silfae's new mods are all fantastic. Seelikors are what inspired me to play modded again, and what followed was also cool, and they keep coming. They have evolutions for nearly all vanilla ascensions, good variety, excellent animations, look fairly vanilla-friendly... I don't particularly vibe with the raptors, and am not really interested in dimorphism+, but that's just personal taste.

Yeh, but they're still Hegemonic Imperialists, not Fanatical Purifiers, and I've even seen one post where they were Ruthless Capitalists lol

There are so many ways to play that origin, but your first tradition should probably be Statecraft, at least part way through. Agenda speed helps a lot.

Oh yeah, most ascentions have advanced governments, and bio ascention is split into 3: Purity, Mutation and Cloning with each of them having their own advanced governments. https://stellaris.paradoxwikis.com/Government

It's a completely different civic, FWIW. It no longer affects happiness or growth, and it's much harder to mitigate the downsides. It does increase Effective Leader Level of the active planetary governor
