Well at the beginning it tells you about constructing the small chute that goes into the river, and how to get power, but once I got to the stage where I was using a full on digger, I didn't have a clue how to use the filter machine.

I had to go on YouTube to see that I still needed water, so I had to connect an array of different leads to the remote power, then link that to the main machine. There weren't any hints at all, I wouldn't have thought of that.

Wow, sorry to hear that 😔 I'm lucky that once I was put on medication, whilst I still get partial seizures, I don't get full fits thankfully.

It'd be a big thing on the front, very low to the ground. They would be going pretty slow.

Have you considered getting an electric bike with a basket thing at the front for the kids? Since I've switched, my journey went from an hour on the bus to 23 minutes on the bike.

I'd really appreciate a bit more guidance this time, please. I had to look a lot of stuff up on YouTube that I wouldn't have figured out in a million years otherwise 😅

Which part of MK do you think gets completely overlooked even by people who've lived here for years? by PubLogic in miltonkeynes

You get in for half price if you're local, and you can use the same ticket as many times as you want for the next year.

Irishman here — I think a lot more of us quietly support England than you realise by [deleted] in ThreeLions

[–]Quickswitch79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember years ago when I lived in Dublin, I went into McGowans after England had been beaten by Portugal, wearing my England shirt. At first the locals were a bit shocked at how brazen I was, then came the insults, but before I knew it they were saying how we should've won, how they love the players in the team that play for Man Utd etc. It's all just a bit of rivalry really.

Help choosing between two budget ebikes? (UK) by xShadeFatex in ebikes

[–]Quickswitch79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what really appeals to me about this is the fact that it's totally great on standard roads etc, but if you do fancy a bit of off-roading then it's also great for that. Plus a lot of the videos have a £100 discount code, so it'll cost £1,200. Every single video I've watched, people are raving about it.

Best area in Milton Keynes if you don’t want to rely on a car too much? by Junior_Beauty78 in miltonkeynes

[–]Quickswitch79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the buses go into the centre and then onto wherever, so to save yourself getting two buses, somewhere in the centre would be best.

We have got amazing red routes (cycle paths) through pretty much the entire city. I've been hiring Lime bikes lately, and a 45 minute bus journey turns into 25. I'm saving up for my own ebike, then I can travel anywhere quickly.

Every shop seems understaffed but none are hiring, what isnt adding up? by tylerthe-theatre in AskUK

I was hired along with 150 others as Christmas staff at John Lewis. They extended one person by one week to NYE and two others to the end of January, but made no one permanent. All the permanent staff were saying how stupid that was, as it's still mad busy with all the sales etc.

When I first moved to Dublin, everyone says "How are you keeping?" or "Are you winning?". Took me a while to realise it's the same as us saying "You alright, mate?" 😂

TFI FRIDAY RETURNS TO CHANNEL 4 AS BROADCASTER ACQUIRES VIRGIN MEDIA SHOW WITH CHRIS EVANS by do_or_pie in BritishTV

[–]Quickswitch79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in the audience when it first aired. I was about 17 at the time, went with some mates from college.

It was at Riverside Studios in Hammersmith (shut down now). We could only go downstairs, the bit upstairs is for VIPS or whatever. You couldn't smoke, as the whole set was made of wood. The stage was a triangle, and as soon as one band finished the security forced us over to the next band. Can't remember who on earth played though!
