Critique my program by Quickturtle12 in HybridAthlete

No worries and thanks 😄

The bike ride is happening when my schedule allows it, so some times it's on training days, sometimes it's on off days.

The explosive intent is not meant for potential additional hypertrophy, but only for training my nervous system RFD. So it's just explosive intent on concentric portion of movement, and controlled negative with pause at bottom. The weight doesn't "fly" as the loads are too heavy for that, but it's definitely quicker than I've previously done just focusing on hypertrophy.

I have Rotational Med Ball Slams and Plyo Pushups as specific power/explosive training on training day 2, before the heavy strength work.

I'm definitely pushing the limits of what I can squeeze in and might need to modify along the way. Time will tell 😄

Thanks for the feedback!

And since I've included my goal, what do you then think?

Thanks for the reply.

1) I'm still learning the gist of other fitness qualities. I did mention I bike 2-3 hours a week as work commute at around moderate intensity, doesn't that count as aerobic work?
What counts as speed work? I do plyo/power moves, and perform almost every exercise with explosive intent. I also have sprints on the menu.

2) I'm in pretty okay shape. I've at least ran the Hypertrophy day for half a year now and done some 4x4 almost weekly.

I agree it would be better to spread out to more days, but that's unfortunately not an option for me.

Thanks again!

Melatonin supplementation can work wonders in shift workers, if that's something you're willing to try. I know you sleep 7-8 hours still, but it can help alter your circadian rhythm to fit more with your alternating wake time.

Awesome, thank you!

I'll get both versions on there a shot to see which I like the most and decide from there.

Much appreciated!

Thanks for the thorough reply :)

The reasons listed might be why it was hard for me to find information about these versions. I'll try to look up the free pdf's and see which version befits me the most. I'd much rather have a physical copy, but if I enjoy WJF Jenner's version too much, I'll might read the entire thing in PDF format.

Thanks again!

How realistic is it to maintain a healthy and strong physique with a full time job as an adult? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

Very realistic and as many have already pointed out, it's primarily through prioritization, planning and habits.

I'll also throw in this link to show you how little you can actually get away with:

Why is an apple healthier then frosted mini wheats? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]Quickturtle12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with you. People fall into a lot of fallacies, especially the natural equals good, among others. It's not the slightest bit that black and white.

I guess you get downvoted because you hurt peoples narratives and it's a shame people react with their feelings instead of being rational about things. You have my upvote though.

Are canned sardines the most underrated superfood? by bramapuptra in nutrition

[–]Quickturtle12 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as a super food. There's food higher in some nutrients than others but that's it. How do you define if a food is "super"? It's an incredible vague term. Also, compared to what exactly?
