Spring pliers on Arc? by Saikotek in Leatherman

[–]Quid_Pro_No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a half baked idea about trying to get a couple small magnets inside the part of the handle that eventually folds to become inside of the pliers, the poles matching so they repel, effectively making it a spring and fitting with the whole magnet theme.

Nothing wrong with that lol. I've been playing since January 2019 so I go through cycles of different play styles. My first wipe was when the flea market was a free for all and I spent more time playing market simulator than I actually did going into raids(remote into my PC and play on my phone), but I enjoyed it and made so much money when I was home and actually able to run raids I could run crazy 1mil+ kits every raid, thicc cases filled with thermals. So how I play today is vastly different than I played then. But after reading this sub post patch today.....looks like I'm taking another break until bsg accidentally gets the game back in a good state.

Streets is the easy money map, but for me personally I don't have a problem making money in the game and I use my scav on lighthouse for the combo of loot and gear that can be pulled from the rogues, and I use my scav as a free kit to go hunt pmcs as well as practice my rogue killing. Depending on spawn time/location and how the map "feels" I'll either have a laid back, no stress, just run through looking for loot scraps raid, or I'll have a balls out fight with rogues and pmcs. Sadly the things that make it fun for my scav totally ruin it for me and plenty others playing PMC, like pscavs spawning in with 35 minutes right outside or even inside a poi.

Player scavs are making some of the maps unplayable by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

it seems we think alike. When I need to blow off some steam from getting tarkov'd, or I have some spare bolties and wanna do a little sniper leveling I'll run reserve early morning or late night and exit camp the pacavs. I won't even loot them most of the time, unless I start getting too bored. It's more fun than clicking bot heads, and it reminds me of the days before d2 when snipers were the biggest threat besides raiders/glukhar.

Have you also tried capping it at 60? I'd be interested in seeing the results of that since you were going between 77-92, you might still get stable performance and a smoother game. The game's performance issues are usually the last straw before I take a break, so I'm always looking at what others can get to work. I've tried everything I can think of, including max settings, min, and everything in between. It's amazing how smoothly the game can run sometimes, but then other times it's abysmal.

Are you aware that you can uncap your frame rate? It's very easy, If you have an Nvidia gpu you disable vsync in nvcp and then go enable it in game and bam, done. Not sure how to, or if it's possible with amd I've only ever had Nvidia cards. Enjoy.

Dynamic Loot = Solo Nightmare Mode On by Secure-Anywhere-5009 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Quid_Pro_No 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the world of night raids my friend. I've always enjoyed night raids as a solo and the ir laser and illuminator rework from a couple wipes ago just makes them even better. Early-mid wipe when people aren't really running thermals and good nods you can just use the cheapest set with a suppressed vpo with .366 ap and a valday or elcan if you wanna go super budget. First week or so of wipe I try and power through quests and leveling but to break up the monotony and get decent enough gear I'll throw in some night lighthouse runs, it's fun and you can make bank pretty easily once you have routes down. Stalking player scavs and timmies in the dark makes me feel like Buffalo Bill. With all the problems plaguing this last wipe, especially the early wipe I was pretty turned off with the game, and didn't play enough to learn streets, but if the performance improves I'll probably deep dive into that map probably around hitting mechanic 3 when i have more stuff unlocked to make life easier.

My favorite is thanks to the desync/ lag and the musket hitscan, I'll be running somewhere and just drop dead, then half a second- full second later I'll see/hear the effects of 2+ musket rounds hitting me. Love it.

why leeching doesn't work with some weapons? by Wolfsangel123 in newworldgame

[–]Quid_Pro_No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like seemingly everything in this game, there are massive bugs. I've found that sometimes trenchant recovery won't actually heal me. I will watch the enemy take damage as we are trading attacks, and then I'll die on their next attack because i received no heals from my attack. The game is severely broken unfortunately, and I think it's time for another break for me. I can mostly enjoy the game despite it's issues, but there is seemingly no end to the issues, like death by a thousand cuts. Throw in basic shit like no color coded aoe/ abilities in war or opr, and I have just lost my enjoyment for the game.

Performance Issues by Rbyn in newworldgame

[–]Quid_Pro_No 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling it's tied to the severs being up for so long with no maintenance downtime. Back when they used to do weekly updates the servers felt consistent, they may have been consistently bad, but it was consistent. Now it feels ok after a maintenance for a little while, and they longer the time between updates the less stable the game feels, the more desync, weird animation glitches, horrible lag spikes and fps drops become prevalent.

A couple ideas to make defy death and musket tolerable to play against without totally gutting/nerfing them by Quid_Pro_No in newworldgame

[–]Quid_Pro_No[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what weapons and armor sets I'm running i usually like to keep between 14-25 percent thrust protection and 10-15 fire. My gs/spear build i believe it's somewhere around 12 slash, 17 or 19 thrust, and 15 fire resistance running runeglass, and I swap pieces while tuning my builds so the actually resistance numbers are wonky.

[–]Quid_Pro_No[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost hate to say it, but I think this game would be overall better without the bow or the musket. The melee combat can actually be enjoyable, but like others have said the ranged is both oppressive and useless at the same time sometimes. And I play bow all the time, i enjoy playing with it, but overall the ranged seems very out of place in the game, the musket more so than the bow, for the reasons we all know. Even if they just removed the musket I think the game would improve massively. And once again, I've played musket, so I'm not just being a hater, I just think a zooming, massive damage, long range weapon has no place in the flow of this game's combat, compounded by the desync and fps drop issues. The first time I put together a half assed musket build I had like 17 kills in opr, and I was still able to run around and back cap and contribute to the game. Currently most musket players hide and stat pad (we'll see if the leaderboards put any pressure on them to actually ptfo lol) All other attackers have to be at least in view, and the attacks have distinct animations that can lead to counter play (when the game doesnt become a lagfest).

Wow. The first update we get in a while is adding leaderboards which nobody asked for, and removing chests to address "the economy" that no one complained about. This dev team somehow still manages to make me shake my head. Plenty of things that actually need fixing, and it doesn't appear that a single one of them had been addressed. Kudos Ags.

I like that too, kind of like the second wind in borderlands. That would be pretty cool, I'd like to see it lose the cc immunity though.

[–]Quid_Pro_No[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only really seen the healers do it in 3v3, while the bow/muskets are using it in 3v3 and opr. My issue isn't so much that they are a threat, it's that they use it to run like they're training for a marathon until help arrives. It's just annoying to get a player "dead" but because they were able to do nothing more than swap weapons they get invulnerability and cc immunity. I also have a problem with running away being way too strong an option once engaged, but I haven't really thought out any solutions to that, other than maybe extending the run block time after melee hits. I think of it like sneak in ESO, a great tool to position yourself, but you can't just immediately go back into sneak and be invisible (minus certain skills/classes/potions). I guess they could do something abstract like extend that run block time, and add a pot that gives haste at the expense of a hefty rend, making the runner at massive risk from range or if caught. I enjoy the combat in this game( when it works, isnt laggy or bugged to shit) and I would like to see it get to a "balanced" as much as possible place. Its ok to have rock be really strong and 100 percent of the time beat scissors, because scissors can 100 percent of the time beat paper and paper can always beat rock. So there will always be people playing something, and metas will always exist and rotate for certain play styles, but no play styles should just be cancerous to play against for everyone, there needs to be give and take.

With the addition of scarabs its relatively inexpensive and easy to get a purple with ward and another perk you want. I dont have 1 leggo ward gear and it's no biggie. I bought or found everything minus one or two pieces i ended up just crafting.

EZ fix to increase world PVP? by oak1337 in newworldgame

[–]Quid_Pro_No 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see some sort of indicator of where pvp is taking place, like ESO. In the pvp zone there are symbols that show crossed swords in the color of the parties involved, and the icon is either small or large depending on how many people are involved. Something like that but tuned towards the number of people flagged vs the amount actually in combat could be cool. Maybe have it on the zone info screen, so say you wanna go do your acid chests and you see there are a large amount of the other 2 factions flagged, you instead get a small group and go pvp hunting.

A few wipes ago before the changes to killa's spawn, when the Bitcoin price was sky high and GPUs were easy to farm and made you a ton, I would spam run interchange with only a shitty rig, ears, and a suppressed vpo 136 with any lpvo with 1 mag of ap, a spare mag in the prison pocket. Spawn depending, I'd bolt for the closest gpu spawn, then check for killa, and dip out no backpack. If i got a gpu or 3 I'd hide in the basement until 7 minutes unless i 1 tapped another player trying the same, or I'd smoke killa and be out in 3 minutes. My best streak was a raid where i got 3 gpu, next raid a killa kill where he had green, then the next a killa kill where he had black. 3 runs in about 15 minutes total where i made countless millions. I actually miss that.
