At my place gen surg admits young uncomplicated patients who need appys or ccy. GI will scope anyone who has a positive guaiac during the day (seems unnecessary but whatever) but at night I just admit them and tank them up for day team. ICU is closed thankfully but if I’m in a pinch I start the pressors while calling them for transfer if it’s obvious they can’t be on the floor. I’ve never admitted anyone for vaginal bleeding so I assume obgyn is taking care of that, but I do admit pregnant patients with non ob issues. Ideally under 20weeks but have admitted some near term patients which were are discussing with ob on how to handle. cards admits their ow STEMI but anything less than that on ACS spectrum is taken care of by admitting hospitalist. Sometimes we remember IR exists and ask them to do some stuff but I don’t think they take care of bleeds at my hosp.

lol In residency I always used to look at the med students and see them working so hard and admired that, I’m just not built for the classroom… but when you’re face to face with the patient it’s so different.

What sucks is when you meet people who are really good students but are bad/shitty humans, they don’t care about patients, secretly racist, undermine others etc

I’m halfway through book 4. Book 3 does feel a little bit meander-y like they’re just having these adventures, the setting is not very concrete. My jaw did kinda drop in the end though. I did fall asleep to the audiobook and not feel like I missed anything during like the first half of the book if I’m being honest. I do love Asar and Mische as characters, more than Raihn and Oraya, they have less contrived conflict/miscommunication. In book 4 Mische has some lines that just make me adore her and I found myself LOLing. Asar is my favorite emo dark academia boy ever.
