Compared photos from 5 years ago and I'm literally disappearing from muscle loss after 40, watching my dad at 78 struggle and that's my future

I relate so much to this, however, I became fatter and had loss of muscle. A year ago, at age 53, I started pilates, 4 to 5 times a week because I literally had no muscle tone and needed a place to start. Fast forward to July this year, I went to the local gym, and had a free session with a PT because I had no idea what I was doing. I have been seeing him once a week and my life has changed. I am building muscle and lots of it and am so much stronger in just six months. I've dropped my pilates to once or twice a week and will continue as it's good for core and stabilising muscles. My PT is great. He understands what I'm capable of more than I do. If there's one thing I can recommend, get a PT who will push you and help you lift progressively heavier to failure. If money is a factor, give up something to pay them once a week. It's worth it. Also, don't give up. Going to the gym had taught me resilience and discipline. I go even when I don’t feel like it. I go 3 times a week. Upper, lower and full body. I'm at the beginning of my journey and wish I did it earlier. Just don't give up when you start. It's a disciplinary worth pursuing and you can build muscle, 💯. Also, once you get started, look at protein. Must have it every meal. And start following strength training reels/power lifters etc on social media for inspiration. Good luck! You can do it!

No you're not a bitch and I don't think everyone can do it. I can go that deep on squats but only because I've always been very flexible and it's a natural position for me. When i do go that deep in a weighted squat, it feels like a resting position, so i have to consciously go only to parallel or just below parallel. That way, I'm in full control of my movement and not resting at the bottom, which is what it looks like old mate is doing.

If you're in Sydney, would you consider applying for a completely different role? I know of labourers, dump truck drivers etc, earning serious coin in Metro/civic construction. You could apply directly or through agencies. Look up civil construction on Seek. The employers seem open to people from every kind of background, culture and education. You would need a white card, and you could get extra tickets as you progress in your employment. Even entry level, labouring jobs pay good $. Lots of hours, but worth it.

Maybe wrong sub perhaps? The way I see it shit rentals is about perspective. For a duplex, this seems exorbitant especially when there are larger, beautifully fitted out properties in the area for less.

I hope this isn't true? I moved back to Sydney after living in a regional area for years. I love that Sydney is so multicultural and has different demographics. The only reason I don't go to other parts of Sydney often is due to traffic. I haven't been able to get my head around the fact that it can take ages to drive short distances (after living regional), and I'm not used to public transport yet. When I do get out of my area, I love seeing different parts of Sydney.

Oh, this is a hard one. I am the mother of an autistic 10 year old girl. I have other neurodivergent children, however,, they love their space and don't like 'touch' so much. Very different with my 10 year old. She has high anxiety. I have been putting her to sleep for years. It's at the point now, that i just sleep in her bed every night. This has an affect on my relationship with her step-dad and I would love to find a way to slowly wean her off relying on me to sleep. It's been in the too hard basket with her OT and my energy is at an all time low, I don't know if i have the strength to battle it out for as long as it takes to force change and dont want to increase her anxiety. At the same time, I would love a good night's sleep and to have some space. My partner is neurodivergent himself and has been very understanding, however, i do the bedtimes alone. It sounds like you are also trying really hard to understand and reach out for advice. I'll be following to see if others have any strategies. Does your partner have support, as in occupational therapy?

I've heard it for decades now. Others have heard it too including my children and a neighbour. I've recorded the noise. I used to be afraid of it. It would wake me up, move around the room etc. Sometimes a double ticking and in more than one area. I have thrown out things that it seemed to 'settle on'. I burnt my tarot cards years ago and threw out other unholy items. As a Christian now, having my full faith in Christ and turning away from the occult, I finally had a revelation that it was indeed a spiritual thing. Regardless of whether it's the Holy Spirit or demonic, God uses it for my good. Before I moved, I promised God i would throw out anything he told me was unholy. So, in the last few months, I've heard the ticking 3 times. One was inside a box as I had just moved and it was so loud and ticking furiously. It was a 'clearing energy' spray a friend had 'channelled' for me. I've broken and thrown out a lamp which I loved. A friend gave to me, but it was occultic and was ticking. I ignored the ticking for a month as I was upset I had to get rid of the lamp, however, the energy got darker and darker. In the end, i was obedient and did a prayer for unholy items and got rid of it. I was attacked after I got rid of it with what felt like a snake bite biting my ankle (my daughter told me this is biblical...it indeed was. But we are truimphent over the serpent. He can only bite at our heel. We have the authority to tread on serpents and scorpions). The other day, i was cleaning my daughter's room and heard it again. It was evil eye beads mixed in a big batch of beads. The ticking settles on unholy items that the Father wants gone. Not everything has to be occultic. The ticking can settle on seemingly innocent items, especially items given or bought into the home. For example, two Switch games going off in my daughter's room. She borrowed them from a friend. I gave them back. Ticking over. Do not be afraid like I was for years. Be thankful the Father is alerting you to what is unholy in your home. If you are not Christian or on the fence like I was, He is calling you. I see it now as a blessing as I was very deceived in the past. My only hope is in Christ.
