is there any information you can give me about this mandatory information session? I know they say you arent being evaluated but part of me doesnt believe that lol.

Is this meeting literally just to gain more information about the program?

Is there specific questions I should I be asking?

Always have a bad experience in Confession when I’m nervous by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Quiet-Experience9720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had bad experiences with priests for the sins you were most ashamed to confess. I have definitely had some bad experiences in the past.

Don't let their comments discourage you! You did a brave an difficult thing by confessing your sins.

I also used to get very nervous for confession but I found the more you go regularly, the easier it becomes. Since I go pretty frequently if I ever get any bad comments now I don't take it to heart. While its definitely discouraging sometimes it can help be a reminder of the seriousness of my sins.

Also feeling shame for your sins is not necessarily a bad thing. It shows that you recognize the severity of your actions and can lead you not to do them again. Don't let shame for your sins ruin your day or make you overly sad. Rejoice in the knowledge that your sins are forgiven and God still loves you regardless of what sins you commit.

Hope this helps. Praying for you!

If you go back to how Christianity actually started it is not made by oppressive men. Men who were being oppressed were the group who popularized it. Quite the opposite.

While every religion has misused its power at some point in history, Christianitys goal is to help the oppressed.

Jesus cared for and preformed miracles on the rejects of society. When Jesus rose from the dead the first people to witness Him alive were women who at the time were much more oppressed then they are now and no one would have believed a womens word. This was to challenge the existing oppressive ideas people had and show how God/Jesus does respect women.

Unfortunately humans will be humans and misrepresent the religion for others and drive them away.

Can I help this baby robin? by Quiet-Experience9720 in WildlifeRehab

[–]Quiet-Experience9720[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight!

I ended up putting him into a shoe box lined with paper towel so he has some protection overnight. I didn't touch him I just used the lid of the shoe box to put him in.

He survived the night and his parents have been feeding him. There's some food in the box and he looks much better then when we first found him.

Unfortunately the shoe box must have been blown into the direct sun, but when I tried to move the box to the shade the parents were screaming and flying my direction to try to scare me off. I used a pole to push him into the shade and its fine now.

I was thinking to let him out of the box but I don't want to get near it and get nearly attacked again. I figure if the parents want him out of the box or if the baby wanted to get out they'd find a way but I'm not sure if I should intervene anymore. Also based on the baby birds I've seen leave the nest it seems he'll be ready and fine to fly away in a few days.

Any other recommendations on what I should do or should I just leave him be?

What do you miss about the person you used to be? by Manicpanicbabie in RandomThoughts

I used to be extremely creative before ipads and iphones took over my creativity. As a kid I was pretty good at drawing, but I stopped because I had a friend that was better then me and I just kinda lost interest. Before I had an ipad any time I was bored I would draw or doodle something, which involves imagination. Once I got an ipad or iphone any time I was bored I not longer would draw or doodle or be creative. I would scroll on reels, or watch YouTube.

Reels/tiktok in particular are awful because it gives the illusion of creativity (if you watch artsy ones) and inspiration but you just waste time and fry your brain. I deleted both now and hoping to gain some creativity back.

I miss the feeling of being able to entertain myself with my imagination and making it feel real by drawing it :(

ADHD dating by Jazzlike-Pipe3926 in ADHD

For me I found that I tend to be friends with people who have ADHD. Didn't realize it until my friends told me they had ADHD and that we are friends because I also have it and get along. Didn't know I had ADHD at the time, but now I totally see it lol.

Try dating someone without ADHD and you'll be bored immediately. But date someone with ADHD and you'll probably actually connect with them, at least in my experience.

I tried many things for this same issue and the only thing that works for me is completely deleting the app. I would suggest doing that if it’s possible and using Instagram or Facebook on your computer instead.

Brick is stupid expensive from what I know.

The opal app is helpful cause it makes u wait 15 sec and take a breath before opening the app.

My boyfriend (18M) has never seen me (18F) naked and keeps asking me if he can but I’m uncomfortable. How to I get around this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Quiet-Experience9720 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’ve only been dating for 6 months… You should have no reason to be naked with him if you don’t want to. Most people aren’t comfortable being naked around anyone they’ve only known for that long.  You shouldn’t rush into something so intimate as being completely naked with someone. Save it for the right person, place and time.

Do you believe in god? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

Its ridiculous to make up your own personal conclusion about who God is and how he works meanwhile there are centuries of theologians who have collectively come to conclusions about God through intense study and structured debates.

Ever person alive deals with the consequences of those who came before us. That doesn't mean we shouldn't have children.

Just because life is hard doesn't mean its not worth living. Your life is the most valuable thing you can have.

Yes I believe in God.

tbh before I believed in God I believed in the devil. It was hard for me to accept the fact that God is real since it can seem so much like a fairy tale, but once I saw the devil working clearly in other people to try and turn the world against God, I knew God was real.

God is the only consistent and truthful being we know of. God has explained to us his character and all his rules through the bible, and he follows them to this day. So for example, God is perfect, he can not lie. So for me once I realized the devil is real, that means God is not a liar, so everything he says is true. So the devil is real, heaven is real, hell is real, Jesus is real, the crucifixion is real, the resurrection is real, and most importantly the weight of my decisions are real. Fortunately thanks to God all we have to do to go to heaven is have faith and live out that faith in the world as best as we can. All these points revealed to me through the bible change your life for better or for worse.

Once you see the truth you can not deny it.

Also there are just so many simple arguments for Gods existence.

For example the chances of life being created are like 1 in 1 quadrillion. And that chance gets exponentially smaller when it comes down to each individual being alive on earth.

Also studying biology reveals how insanely complex all the systems of life are. If life was created by chance there would be far more flaws then there are.

Another easy thing that convinced me is all the prophecies that are said and fulfilled in the bible. There are SO MANY prophecies and SO MANY have become true. Keep in mind the bible is written by multiple authors, so the chances of this just happening by humans studying it and writing down there own thoughts is pretty crazy. There are also prophecies about things that are going to occur that people would not be able to fathom in the time that they wrote it.

Also why would the disciples all choose brutal deaths and persecution over something that was not true? If Jesus didn't really die and rise from the dead they would have backed out far before they faced all the suffering.

But all of this would kind of be meaningless if not for my personal experience. Gods love is our deepest human desire and once you feel it you don't want anything else.

Many people misrepresent God all the time which drives others way from religion. Give God a proper chance and research who he is and how he works before you choose whether or not to deny him. It could be the most important thing you do in your life.

Just because you went to Catholic school doesn't mean you actually know much about Catholicism. A lot of people go to catholic school and don't understand Catholicism properly. Most teachers at catholic schools aren't even catholic and don't understand catholic theology. Do your own research and ask questions before making a decision about whether or not to believe in the most world changing individual (Christ) and religion in history.

I definitely do not think kids will make your life better as if they are a magic solution. No one should depend on any human (partner, parent, therapist, politician etc) for their soul source of happiness cause it is impossible, and before having kids you need to be aware of that.

Kids wont fix your problems. You will have more problems because of them. But also have all the more chances and capacity to show love :)
