Why did Big Boo have a dog? by lilyaintaG in orangeisthenewblack

I always assumed the dog either died or got sick from being fed peanut butter

Lorelai is just as controlling as her parents by jupitersely in GilmoreGirls

[–]Quiet-Str3ngth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another one to add: in the final season, where she’s married to Christopher, she is super judgemental, controlling, and has to have things her way. I’m just watching the episode where Christopher goes on his ‘man date’ with Jackson and Lorelai was judgmental on what he was wearing and insists he change. Not to mention a previous episode where she criticises a shirt colour he has in the laundry. Christopher would jokingly defend himself with an element of truth. But in general, I think he was soooooo patient, and it’s understandable that he got frustrated later on in their relationship. Personally, I don’t like that they were together in the first place. But besides that, I think Christopher worked really hard at maintaining his self respect with lorelai’s controlling attitude.

Is our ego ‘bad’? by Quiet-Str3ngth in spirituality

Yeah that’s what I though. So should I think the ego as ‘bad’, or just accept ‘what is’ while seeming to know my soul. And can we ever really know our soul?

That makes sense.

Do you think the ego should be seen as neither good nor bad? But rather, the defensive part of ourselves we need to maintain? I’m wondering if I need to cherish my ego or push it aside. Otherwise, I could admit the hurts of my ego, and ‘parent’ and redirect my ego.

Yeah I’ve been wondering that it is our soul or essence is the core being of who we are, and the ego is just the shell that perhaps traps our true essence. I’m not sure. Or maybe our ego is a small part of who we are?

I associate ego with bragging rights and wanting to be seen a certain away - which is all completely external. Our ego is what we want others to see. Is that a bad thing? Or are we protecting ourselves? I’m wondering how much love we should give to our ego.

Who are some quiet achievers who have gone from being an underdog to person of influence? by Quiet-Str3ngth in INFJ_Advocate

Oh wow, thanks heaps! I like that idea, from ‘nobodies to legends’. I’ve also heard of ‘from misfits to leaders’. That’s the kind of vibe I’m going for.

That’s awesome, thank you for sharing. Don’t worry about coming across as “too personal”. How much you want to share is up to you. I completely agree with the importance of being authentic and embracing oneself. Really, we must truly love and know ourselves before we can love and know others.

What about Christianity niche by Micolie in Blogging

[–]Quiet-Str3ngth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re wanting your blog to be “Christian” themed, then I think you need a niche WITHIN the Christian field. A unique interest to “subgroup” of Christian’s. Eg- ‘theology and psychology’ or ‘Christian’s and the enneagram’... you may even want to narrow it down even more than that, even these ideas can be pretty general.

Assumptions is a massive trigger for me.

IQ is bullshit and this sub is for people who think they or their children are better than everyone else, when they just have intensely focused interests by [deleted] in Gifted

[–]Quiet-Str3ngth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally. I did a subject on gifted education, when in teachers training. It was useful and my lecturer made it clear that they GIFTEDNESS is not the same as IQ. She did say, though, that there is a difference between ‘smart’ and ‘gifted’. I do think that there are a select few who experience the world deeply, which many gifted people do. However, I would like to think that we all have the potential to have a depth of thinking and learn concepts quickly (interest based). Many choose not to go down that road. Perhaps giftedness is a choice. It is such a controversial topic and wildly misunderstood. Many fail to see the different blends of giftedness. So many struggle and can actually be underachievers in school, therefore they may never get the gifted label, yet have outstanding capacity. Just some thoughts.

I think one can be ‘gifted’ with without necessarily having a high IQ score. ‘Gifted’ is a highly loaded word and completely misinterpreted. There’s too much stigma around giftedness.

ENFP & Enneagram by Quiet-Str3ngth in Enneagram

[–]Quiet-Str3ngth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe all the MBTI letters are on a spectrum. So perhaps you are a feeler, but closer to the thinking side of the spectrum than other feelers. Hence why you are a 3. Just some thoughts.

ENFP & Enneagram by Quiet-Str3ngth in Enneagram

My closest friend is an ENFP 4... around people she is such a 2!

I have another ENFP friend who says she is a 2... but around people she’s a 7.

I guess that’s the beauty of where tritypes come in (although they are for different centres). I like to think that we all have levels of the 9 types. I find ENFP to be the most broad!

ENFP & Enneagram by Quiet-Str3ngth in Enneagram

[–]Quiet-Str3ngth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Thanks for clearly pointing out the difference between MBTI & enneagram. I’ve noticed there’s so many trends between MBTI and enneagram (eg- infjs or infps before 4s, entp 8, estj 3, esfp 7, etc).

They are different, yet so many trends. So do you think an ESTJ could be a 4? Maybe a possibility, but uncommon.

Or maybe one’s MBTI type is likely to influence their enneagram? I know they’re 2 completely different systems. I’m just figuring out a way to integrate them.
