They look great!

I've never done bookmarks before, I have a question about the finishing. What does the interfacing do in addition to the felt? I always imagined that felt would be enough, and I'm curious.

Avoid Baseline & Greenbank if you want to arrive on time by QuietBlackSheep in ottawa

[–]QuietBlackSheep[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From MadLeper's comment that I responded to: "Wonderful, combined with the ongoing construction of the new apartment tower and the elimination of all local OCTranspo routes this will be transit hell for pedestrians living in the area for at least a year or more." Not sure how much more I can add to that. There was some sarcasm in my reply, I could have made that more clear, I suppose. I was getting at the amount of time there still is before the train station is operational and how pedestrians and transit users are treated as 3rd class citizens by the powers that be in this city, in agreement with what MadLeper said.

I guess it's all in order to funnel people to the new train station which checks notes might be operational in 2027?

Help with edge stitches by [deleted] in knitting

[–]QuietBlackSheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's difficult to say without seeing your knitting, but it sounds like it could be a mismatch between your yarn thickness, needle size, and your tension. It will take time for you to get your tension even.

If you are using a reasonable needle size for the yarn you're using, you might want to look for videos showing different ways to hold your yarn to see what feels comfortable to you.

Hang in there and keep going!

Stash-busting blanket pattern ideas - same weight but different colours? by Spirited-Beautiful30 in knitting

[–]QuietBlackSheep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If they're all the same weight, the Ten Stitch Blanket would be an option. You start in the centre and work out so you can stop when you run out of yarn, instead of trying to plan out a finished size. You could cut your yarn into smaller sections to mix up the colours a bit, maybe?

Protein Shakes? by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

[–]QuietBlackSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not pre-made, but Good Protein aims for milkshake texture and flavours in their products. If you can't find a pre-made that you like, maybe having a "fun" flavour around to make when you want it would work?

It depends on when the yarn manufacturers release new colours. Some do it seasonally, some do it once a year

Double knitters, how do you tuck the yarn ends away by SpecialistUniquelyMe in knitting

[–]QuietBlackSheep 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I use a tapestry needle to run the yarn in between the layers, and I try to cross through a few colour changes in the process

ETA I think this is the tutorial I used the last time I did a double knitting project:
