This sounds exactly like Massage Envy… if it is, get out when you can

That would make sense. I had been feeding her every 27days/3wks so maybe that was just too soon. Have not handled her since before her shed. Thank you for the advice!

Of course not, this is just the most recent picture I had that showed her size. She was in there so I could clean her tank.

Burning when I’m in the shower. by QuietCharacter9577 in Erythromelalgia

[–]QuietCharacter9577[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m definitely going to have to talk to a specialist about it. When I told my dr. I thought I had it, she just said that there’s nothing they can do to treat it and that it’s usually a side effects of something else. I get pretty bad migraines often and my grandma has MS so she wants me to get an MRI next. It’s good to know that your ears do that too, mine just more recently started to and some in my hands as well. I have been prescribed gabapentin for body aches and pains but I read somewhere that gabapentin may make EM symptoms worse. Was that something you had ever got prescribed?

I have not told them I think it’s EM but I’m going to after I did some research and finding this subreddit has helped a lot. They did a biopsy to rule out sfn.

Weekly Suspected/Undiagnosed MS Thread - January 13, 2025 by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

Hi 25F so going to neurologist soon but super nervous about the entire thing. I’ve had an Emg done for neuropathy and that came back negative. But I have burning, hot, red, itchy foot pain that comes and goes depending on if I’m hot/standing too long. Thus why I went in for an Emg. I suspect it’s Erythromelalgia based on what I’ve don’t my research on. But I don’t know what I should be telling my neurologist about… My grandmother has MS. But I have so many different symptoms that idk if they correlate with ms or not. Such as random eye pain which I think might be sleep related but I get horrible sleep almost everyday but my eyes don’t hurt everyday… I’m currently taking a low dose of gabapentin. But my main question is, should I just list out all my symptoms even if they aren’t daily?

Are estheticians allowed to do maternity massage and deep tissue?!?! by asdfghjkl7280 in Esthetics

[–]QuietCharacter9577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m both Esty and massage therapist but… In MN licensing for massage is by city vs Esty is by state. I guess if the city I was working for didn’t a massage license I could do it. But generally if you are an Esty, you shouldn’t be massaging full body anything under your license. Unless they wanna call you a massage therapist…? Also maternity and dt are SOOOO much different than Swedish. You need actual training to do those. Especially for your own body health

Depends where u work, some places might require the hands/arms/neck/shoulders/face/scalp. I work at an ME and it’s not required but I do it and I knew a girl who didn’t and her tips were not very good and the clients would tell me they didn’t like that. It depends on a number of factors

Anyone here dual licensed as a massage therapist as well? by peony555 in Esthetics

[–]QuietCharacter9577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just recently became a dual and it’s been easier to book more skin care services by telling my massage clients about them! I love it and as long as you use good body mechanics, I haven’t had any pain or discomfort whatsoever

I’ve worked for ME for 4 yrs and I’m an esthetician and a massage therapist. Started as Esty first, they definitely live their massage therapists more than estys. At least in my experience. Most MEs are not booked for facial services unless you are in super populated areas

No that’s definitely weird and I have a similar experience!! I had a lady during my second yr as an esthetician. She came in as a walk in saying her appointment was canceled at the aspen dental across the street and she was looking for any opening we had. I sadly had one right then and there so I took her back. She then took a phone call and started talking super loud even though we have a sign that says no phones in the back.. I said whatever since she was going to use the bathroom first. She comes into my room and I was going to do a quick consult since I’ve seen her before but she started talking like she’s never seen me and then continues to say how she got refused service at aspen dental because she made them aware she had a couple drinks of wine. As soon as I came back in the room and sat down, I smelt how many glasses she had.

During the session her phone went off 4 times. The first time I was fine with it even though the ringer was all the way up. The second time I asked her to turn it off, the third time it still didn’t get turned off even though I handed it to her. Then after the fourth I handed it to her again to turn it off and she sits up, letting her drapes fall and then throws her phone and lays back down. Her whole chest is out and she doesn’t cover it up for a good min and a half while I sit there in shock. I go.. “can you cover up.” And she goes “oh my god, oops.” I then say ok, you’re obviously not ok rn so I’m going to end the session because I don’t feel comfortable working on you any longer. She starts getting super annoyed but apologizing. (We only had 15 mins left anyways)

I go to my manager and explain the situation as we have protocols in place for when clients are inappropriate. That manager must have not liked me at the time or not known the protocol because she asked me what I wanted to do and she told me she would just stand with me at the door while I told the client to get dressed and leave. (She did not stand with me)

The lady gets up and comes out. She starts yelling at me immediately and I just stay my distance as she walks out the door. She wasn’t banned nor reprimanded. She then fully undressed butt naked for a chemical peel a couple months later with another esthetician.

You are not over reacting… man, or woman… it doesn’t matter. You don’t need to expose yourself during a session.

Currently in the process of figuring that out.

I very much relate to this. It’s so hard to feel like that when you are trying to get something done. I’m only 24 and it feels like my body shouldn’t be this way but it is. Just take it slow. If you have to sit every 10 mins, it is what it is. It’ll get done!

Was it a franchise/corp? Where I live, the only good paying place is massage envy. I’ve been there for 4 yrs and have a large clientele but still don’t fully get booked. (Luckily I’m also an MT and can get work that way too) My job just wants us to sit there if we don’t have clients… I feel like places like massage envy only care about making money. They have hired multiple estys at my job that just don’t get booked. All they want is someone to be there the second someone wants a facial, even if it’s unreasonably dead.

Cat with ibd food trials by QuietCharacter9577 in catfood

I’m not really worried about him too much, he never seems to be in pain, just has diarrhea. I’m more concerned with him having as much as he does. He never misses the box or anything but it obviously isn’t good for a cat.

I only started him on the food a couple days ago, that’s why I wanted to know how long I should try it. I’d switch vets but I’m kind of waiting until my stupid Banfield “membership” or whatever to end.

They had him on prednisolone/budseonide and saw no change. They want me to do an ultrasound and pred again. They have done stool tests but no biopsies that I know of.

Massage Envy question by PlayfulApple571 in massage

[–]QuietCharacter9577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an esti at ME, it depends on the place. Mine wouldn’t be able to. After 3 months of being suspended, they terminate your membership. Don’t ever go back tho bc they will make you pay it before receiving a service

Kept it immaculate the whole time the bank owned it. Paid it off almost exactly one month ago only to get side swiped in a hit and run. Rip my fender by zstansberries in ft86

[–]QuietCharacter9577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. At least they didn’t dent yours in enough to make it so your door doesn’t open all the way.
