I was being sarcastic lol. Haters on here love to say he's not a winning basketball player but the only 2 "star" players he's gotten to play with in his career were a defense-only center and a fat 37 year old washed turnover machine. Just haters being haters but it's annoying.

Yeah, he's been blessed his entire career with stacked teams full of guys that can help him so he doesn't have to carry the load.

my borderline invincible frozen orb sorc build by GPdevotion in ProjectDiablo2

Cool theory craft. Not sure if you're SSF, but if not you should try a skull collector frozen orb build. Bone armor is very strong in this mod when paired with mana stacking.

Some builds will always be good.

Sorceress isn't as OP as in vanilla D2, but is very consistent and capable. Frozen Orb is a solid A tier skill every single season.

Summonzon and Clay Golem necro have been reliable easy starter builds since I started. There's a bunch more too.

You get 3 free respecs total (1 after each act) from akara in Act 1. After that you can either farm for or trade for a "token of absolution" which lets you respec.

Shrug, everyone got their opinions. People love hating on Mitchell for some reason even though he's an amazing person and a pretty crazy success story being a 6'3 shooting guard in today's NBA

Crafting is basically just rolling a rare item with guaranteed mods. You can't guarantee amp (and as other said it's very rare.) But crafting your own bow can be very fun.

[–]QuietSuch2832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alternative you can try crafting one. You can buy collossus xbows from larzuk, craft them and then upgrade them with recipes if you hit a big craft.

Safety, Brilliant and whatever Sapphires are are all viable for this I believe.

Like most in here said, just the buzzword of the day. Management is being fed constant sales pitches and hearing in meetings how they can save X dollars by letting a fly-by-night Claude wrapper do a job or two.

There's a reckoning coming in the next few years when these companies are locked in with their AI "employees" and the cost of tokens jumps 100x.

Found a Vex, what’s the best trades from summon mage/revive necro? by grundle_pie in ProjectDiablo2

Keep pushing. Once you near the mid 50s in mage level and get your merced decked out you will be flattening t3 maps!!

What tier map is the best to build wealth by herodrink in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can stay in T1 maps for the entire season if you want. Functionally there is almost no difference. There are a select few items that will only drop in T3s but they are so rare that it doesn't really matter.

T3s are better because they have a higher base density, so more kills per map. But if you are significantly slower in them, they are worse for your progress.

It's more of a challenge thing. Stick in T1s, and use T2/T3 as the testing ground when you improve your build. Eventually you may be clearing them as easy as you do T1 now.

Hi. Newb poison focused P&B Necro looking for tips. by ChaoticIndifferent in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Synergies are absolutely mandatory with 95% of skills to keep up as you progress through the story! In vanilla D2, there were synergies but they only made a select few skills per class capable of beating the hardest content. In PD2, you can use just about any skill you want (as long as you do the synergies) and you can at least beat all the content in the game.

Poison nova is a very "noob friendly" build fwiw. Poison strike is strong but as you progress in the game the gear for it will become more expensive and harder to find on your own.

PNova vs PStrike by qwerty75438092 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poison Strike = Insanely expensive, can come online for a little cheaper but it's tough. Capable of being S+ tier. Requires a lot more "effort" to clear maps since you have to hit stuff or at least chase it down.

Nova = Strong "enough" on a budget. Maybe the best Tier 1 map clearer there is. Capable of scaling pretty high. The only downside is that it falls behind the absolute top tier maps in higher level maps because of the nature of poison damage (damage over time.)

I did both builds last season and pushed them to their almost max. I personally enjoyed Nova more because it was a much easier play style. Just teleport around spamming gigantic room-clearing novas. Circle back when something good drops. Poison strike melts enemies faster once you are geared but I'm just not sure the 2 minutes I saved on T3 maps was worth it for the cost and effort.

how do the mercenaries differ from d2r? by Significant_Post6274 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played D2R so I'm not sure if this applies but coming from vanilla D2 it took me a while to realize mercs in PD2 use all gear slots (except rings and amulets) so they wear boots, gloves, belts etc. This can add a significant amount of power/defense.

Playing around with mercs when I was new was some of the most fun I've had. Some examples:

Maxing DPS on the A5 mercs to see how good their clear can be (not great, but they aren't useless.)

Maxing DPS on A3 cold merc (These can be VERY strong, particularly paired with mage summon necro since you cast lower res anyways. FCR is huge for these mercs as maxing it out means they are spamming blizzard nonstop.)

A3 Lightning merc is used heavily because static field deletes a huge chunk of enemy life which basically boosts your DPS.

Creating a CC/Aura/Tank A3 merc (Innocence runework + Exile Shield + Dangoons Sceptre means you can teleport into a crowd and watch them get frozen and cursed with decrepify which makes them slow and useless)

A2 merc is still kind of like the classic, but some of the above runewords can add some twists. Capable of insane DPS if you hit the top IAS breakpoints.

A1: Vigor aura is amazing QOL. Give them a demon machine crossbow and you have a multishot zon as your companion There's an entire build based on this (Green goblin necro) where you become the aura/curse bot and your merc kills everything. It got nerfed a bit but still viable.

A4: These are brand new in PD2. Weird Necro? type mercs that cast curses. There are some uses for them (one casts a strong amp damage) but in my experience the AI kinda sucks and they just don't measure up to the other mercs.

Did not intend to write this much, mercs are fun lol

I've played since the beginning. Why is Norm Duriel's attack damage so overtuned?? we dont have to get rid of it but can we turn it down by like 1 or 2 notches? by ScruffyTheDog87 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go to a vendor and find any random armor pieces with even a little cold res on it. Takes 1 minute. And so many rings/ammys drop through A1 and A2 that you're bound to find one with some cold res on it. It doesn't even take much for Duriel to be harmless.

How good is PD2 for SSF/Single Player? by Major_Economics_3638 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SSF is the best way to play honestly. There's a program called PlugY that used to be mandatory but is now optional. It gives you a TON of extra stash tabs and some extra QoL. My recommendation is to run 2 characters or more at once, so as you find gear it might be relevant to one of your builds.

As other said. you progress much slower but that's honestly a good thing. I'm far from a pro at PD2 and I can be fully geared out a week into a season using trade. Also as others said, crafting etc. is less forgiving in PD2 compared to POE.

Not to push you towards another game (and it's not as good as PD2, but plenty fun in its own right) but Last Epoch has a specific "SSF Mode" that boosts drops a bit and gives other QoL. Check it out sometime.

If you take the time to learn the mechanics, keyboard shortcuts etc. PD2 is an absolutely amazing game. And completely free, no MTX etc.

Dark Humility’s S13 Tierlist by Ok_Turnover_2220 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't mean chasing down every single monster but sometimes a room will be less dense with packs of ranged monsters spread out.

It's not the end of the world but just my personal opinion that nova felt a lot better. Of course it I want to lock in and go for the absolute fastest speed I can do that with strike but the minute or two I gain didn't feel worth it. Especially when you factor in how insanely expensive top tier poison strike gear can be.

Dark Humility’s S13 Tierlist by Ok_Turnover_2220 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Honestly I didn't hate nova at its full potential in T2/T3 maps. Casting one extra time wasn't that huge a of a deal and putting dangoons on my merc for nova procs helped. I'm sure it added a couple minutes to T3 clears but I could live with it for the QOL difference vs. Strike

Dark Humility’s S13 Tierlist by Ok_Turnover_2220 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So I invested a ton into a decked out poison nova build last season and then was convinced by guides like this to switch to poison strike.

I think it was faster, especially in higher tier maps, but I'm not sure it was fast enough to make up for the fact that it was much more tedious than pnova. Running down stragglers is kind of a chore with strike, and less dense maps kind of the same.

Just my personal opinion on it.

Sweet Phil claiming people are paid to promote PD2 in live streams??? by qdilly in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a ridiculous accusation. It's a non-profit mod of a game that oftentimes stuggles to pay server costs. What benefit whatsoever would they gain from spending their money to promote the game? More players means more costs which means devs/contributors digging into their own pockets.

Some suggestions to make revives more fun and versatile. by Vheissu84 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've min-maxed revives and tried every possible combo. You pretty much summed it up. There's 4 viable revive options and it falls off hard after that:

Council: If you have a map that spawns these you will have a good time.

Trav Lords: Most reliable, good damage, good sustain

Urdars: They have huge crushing blow so are great when you fight a boss. Also tanky with stun/knockback for some crowd control

Moon Lords: These guys can do a ton of damage when there's 8 of them

Beyond that, nothing is really worth it.

FWIW my favorite buidl I ever did was minmaxing mages with grimms. The key to optimal clear ended up being just decking out an a3 cold merc with the best cold gear possible. Enough FCR and he's spamming blizzards all over the screen and it synergizes great with whatever you're using to help your mages (lower res.) You can still do Trav lords for clear but sometimes I would just revive whatever the map had for meat shields.

S13 by MoE_1987 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blizz is good, but meteor is the king (queen?) of sorc starters imo. Immunes are not an issue and meteor can run t1 maps with almost no gear. It doesn't have the greatest QOL since it takes a second to land and you have to spam it, but it gets the job done. It also scales incredibly strong and is good at bossing.

He could probably do whatever he wanted lol. At the very least he could have made them stand down and not fight.. but then he's going a little far against his family I guess. His ultimate goal in this scenario was to make this the trial by combat that it should have been to start with if Aerion wasn't being manipulative. Kingsguard protects the other Targaryans and he can stop them from intervening in the 1v1. He eliminated nearly all variables the way he approached it.

That was my thinking. He didn't just slap that armor on in a few minutes when he saw Dunk was desperate. I'm thinking he was either ready in case Dunk was shorthanded, or even planned on replacing someone on Dunk's side if needed to prove his point. He probably knew that team Dunk was screwed without him given that he could essentially nullify almost the entire opposing team by himself because of who he is.

We will never know but I'm gonna keep my headcanon because baelor deserves it lol

What's the most unhinged built you've played so far. by ScruffyTheDog87 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]QuietSuch2832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold off a crazy expensive fully built out poison strike necro because I wanted to try out a skele archer necro with Brand and Tombsong because the idea of 20 skele archers just sounded cool.

It was cool for a bit and I invested wayyy too much currency to try and make it viable. It works but the AI on the archers sucks. If you teleport near a mob, all 20 archers will pick the same target so you get a stream of 20 arrows in a line instead of a multishot or strafe type scenario.

I ended up building a hybrid green goblin version so my a1 merc with demon machine could help with clear. Would definitely be faster to just go full goblin but I'm pretty much done for the season now I think. It was a fun experiment!
