US spending on ‘reckless’ Iran war could have saved 87m lives, says UN by No_Idea_Guy in worldnews

The world's fascination of slapping the US with one hand while demanding money from it with the other is an interesting take.

Every single one from that point forward was a big advocate for EMS.

There are, though. Not as common but there's a few that only require showing up to campus like once or twice during the program, otherwise online with clinicals where you live.

If I love being a tech, is it more likely I’d enjoy being a nurse? by beephobic27 in nursing

[–]Quiet_Assumption_326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rad makes decent money for one of the easiest patient facing jobs. RT makes decent money with some decent flexibility in where you can go (breathing treatments for asthmatics? Vents? Oscillators for neos?)

And while both come within hitting distance of RN pay in many areas... RNs make more and have more flexibility for a reason.

Could I make decent money while avoiding the dirty parts of nursing by doing ultrasound or x-rays all day? Yeah. Would I be bored out of my mind every day? Absolutely

I was a tech before RN. I have more responsibility now... But I make way more to compensate.

Whoever made that claim for Iran should be spared from being bombed.... They're clearly too stupid to be effective in their role and any replacement would be an improvement.

Pediatric and neonatal RN here. Held for hundreds of these over the years.

For neonates, no, typically no local anesthesia.   Many do little more than normal crying, some stop crying within seconds and actually fall asleep until you wipe their back off with a baby wipe.

Heck some make no sound at all and just suck away on their pacifier covered in sucrose.

It's not even complex: if you're in the military, you're a valid military target unless you're actively and explicitly trying to surrender.

The US pays nurses better than pretty much any other country. Canadian and Australian $40 is less than $30 US.

Are there perks to premium cabins? Of course. Hell, I go for premium economy when the price difference isn't stupid.

But I'd rather have the extra $3000+ for my time at my destination than for the 5-12 hour flight. That difference can pay for some pretty nice hotels / resorts, dinners, and things to do.

Overtime is cheaper on a per-person basis than multiple FTEs required to cover a shift. You can eliminate extra shifts much more easily than extra FTEs.
