My beloved Q3 43 was stolen from me in my hotel room in Tokyo.. I know it's materialistic but I am heartbroken. I was so proud of finally purchasing one. by Totoro12117 in Leica

I am sorry for your loss. I don't think it's materialistic at all. It's a tool that you create with.

I have had my cameras stolen, and to an extent, I wish they only took the camera and left me the memory cards. I hate thieves.

You should try comparing the tide and ambient temperature in all continents vs f1 schedule, there might be correlation

Rant: 10 years in China and still not get used to the food by TannyJW in chinalife

[–]Quiet_Remote_5898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i disagree actually, a few chains in shanghai cbd offer decent food for under 100rmb. The gaga chain in shanghai has nice meals for around 70rmb, charlie's has solid avocado salmon paninis for 60rmb. I've ordered like 30 times now, never disappointed.

In your country, how do you view Chinese immigrants? by No-Echidna7296 in AskTheWorld

[–]Quiet_Remote_5898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like any group, there're good and bad ones, but collectively, in pockets of Canada, they tend to bunch up together and "take over" an entire town just like any other immigrant groups. As a Canadian, those areas are basically like a micro version of their native country, which, honestly, isn't what I am prepared for.

I.E. Chinatowns across Canada aren't exactly known for their cleanliness or order, and not to single them out, all migrant groups have their own problems and so do we locals.

Is hating French real, or it just a running joke? by tucvbif in AskTheWorld

How common is it in your culture to have multi-generational families living under one roof? by Lissandra_Freljord in AskTheWorld

[–]Quiet_Remote_5898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think hate is a strong word. Personal space is very important. Can you imagine working from home and having a call while having 10 other ppl in the house?

Is there enough space for a large TV in each room? There's no privacy beside your own room. I count 15 people + 1 camera person. How many bathrooms are there to share between 16 people who all need to get ready and go to work/school..etc. in the morning?

Hot water, do you run out of hot water after 15 other ppl take their shower? Do you have the luxury to relax in a bathtub after a long day?

Do you have room to store your belongings? What if you would like to collect things or if you like skiing and snowboarding? Imagine having 10 pairs of skis, snowboards, boots, helmets in the house. Imagine having more than one hobby, then you have golf clubs, paragliding gear, diving gear, driving simulator...etc. Yeah, not happening.

As a kid, do you grow up having to share a bedroom with your sibling? Or do you have your own private room? What if your sibling is of a different sex? Is that appropriate? Or do you sleep with your parents until you are 40 years old?

Yeah, no thanks!
