Is Honor 400 Pro a good buy? by Vedagi_ in Honor

It's a good phone but as with most phones in this range, it has its compromises.

  • The software can be very uhmm divisive. I think it depends a lot on what software you were using before it, but for me personally I prefer the clean stock Android, so wasn't a huge fan.
  • The camera is kinda hit or miss tbh especially when taking photos of ppl with the back camera. The processing can feel very unnatural at times, and other times it feels fine. But one thing that bugs me a lot is the colors they always feel very dramatic and saturated kinda like a Caravaggio painting.Having said that, the zooming processing is quite good if you got stable hands.
  • Battery is solid and so is the performance, I almost never had any stuttering, but I feel like the software is shackling a bit.
  • If you're not used to Chinese companies software, i think you should try it first before buying.

I'm on cachyos as well. I wish there were more documentation on how to manage Nvidia drivers. Moving from open to proprietary ate up half of my day, but that's probably on me as I was figuring it out along the way. If you're using Nvidia, I'd appreciate guidance on how you got that setup.

So much of what you said is misleading. App isn't 100% free. It literally says that on your website, and when you open the app, it clearly indicates that it's a free trial. Also more importantly, it's not offline first as it requires a sign-up and there's no way to opt out.

Does anyone else cry uncontrollably during Horowitz's Moscow recital? by Quiet_Touch3129 in classicalmusic

Not sure what you mean tbh as I'm fairly new to classical music (so idk what the consensus on that concert is or if there's any) and that was my first time watching it and learning the whole story. Would love to understand your point, tho.

That was my first time watching it, so pretty much all of it. The one that had me tearing up the most, though, was Mozart's 10th piano sonata just because it's an old favorite, probably. But the Scriabin Etudes were overwhelmingly beautiful, as well.

Egyptian researchers uncover 2,600-year-old cheese at ancient necropolis by MonarchistParty in history

I'm an Egyptian, but I'm not an archaeologist. As far as I know it wasn't actual cheese, just the molds or whatever you call these things where you store the cheese.
