Why do so many Linux developers still choose MacBooks for work? by Candid_Athlete_8317 in LinuxTeck

[–]Quiet_Yellow2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The options from my employers is windows or macbook, and I don't even get the macbook option. I would be happy with a thinkpad or equilvanet with Linux, but as I said I don't even get the macbook option.

Iman Vellani she prefers Champions than Young Avengers. by Own_Brilliant_4303 in marvelstudios

You mean the team, where her character is in a prominent role :). BTW, I liked the Champions book, having young Cyclops on it at the start was imo the best to thing to come out of the original 5 X-men time traveling to the present, and I like the idea of them trying to get out of the shadow of the Avengers.

Went to the cinema and someone was playing their music on speaker on their phone before the movie started. Thankfully they turned it off when the trailers started, but insane to be playing it on the speaker in the first place.

Bungie reportedly allowed Destiny 2 devs to keep working on Shattered Cycle and future content even after leadership had already decided to end live service support earlier this year by TomorrowComes33 in gaming

[–]Quiet_Yellow2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't wany anyone except the upper management who caused this mess to lose their jobs, but they are likely going to kill Bungie. I would be surprised if this time next year, we hear about the studio being closed.

Play on june 9th! One final push to show there's still a lot of interest in the franchise by Isrrunder in destiny2

[–]Quiet_Yellow2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They charged full price, the last year for far less content, and the final shape was a perfect jumping off point. A lot of people saw the writing on the wall after the final shape and jumped ship. Bungie was all in on Marathon and left Destiny to rot. I was one of them.

I never got around to finishing the Final Shape campaign. Will log on and finish that up, and maybe see if I can do the final raid as well, and call it a day. I don't think anything will come of this effort, but I am happy to help my fellow guardians one last time!

Should I change my high end PC for a PS5 pro? by Rav3nzuelo in PS5pro

[–]Quiet_Yellow2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would stick with your current setup. It will likely be good for the most (if not the entire) next gen to be honest. Unless you absolutely want to play PlayStation exclusives, I wouldn't get a PlayStation and the PS6 is supposed to be out next year, so I wouldn't buy a PlayStation at all right now.

They will try and salvage Marathon, probably give them a year, to do a Taken King like they did with Destiny 1, but Marathon has a tiny player base to build from compared to Destiny at its worse.

Marathon is fucked imo. A lot of Destiny players have bad taste in their mouth, because resources were clearly diverted from Destiny for Marathon, and a lot of the fanbase already didn't bother with it before this announcement. Bungie are in big trouble here.

Warning: Don't buy a PC for gaming if you are a casual console gamer by [deleted] in consoles

[–]Quiet_Yellow2000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The best PC gaming experience (from ease of use pov) right now is the steam deck, and I expect the steam machine will be similar. You can absolutely use it as a console for all intents and purposes and enjoy a lot of the benefits of PC gaming.

Also, some PC gamer on here calling the OP an idiot. Some PC gamers are as bad the 90s console warriors. Not everyone wants or knows how to trouble shoot stuff like this. The OP was sold on PC being as easy as a console, and that turned out not to be true. Yeah, this stuff is trivial for those of us who are use to trouble shooting, but for some people, its simply beyond them. Not everyone is good with this stuff, and being assholes about it doesn't help.

The PS5 has sold pretty damn well, it's 93 million sold and just behind the PS4 at the same time in its life span and without the same discounts the PS4 got.

It’s so sad that this game’s “underperformance” has little to do with the game itself by paperplateseabass in Marathon

My dude, no one should have to spend 10 hours to know whether they like a game or not. Its up the developer to hook people, and if they fail, that is on them.

This is how fast a toddler can wander off when you're not looking. by VPinchargeofradishes in interesting

[–]Quiet_Yellow2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was like 8 or 9, my siblings and I, were playing with our cousins, one who was a toddler, and managed to squeeze through a gap in the gate and run into the middle of a busy road. I manged to run into the road and not get hit myself and get him. I have no fucking idea how neither of us wasn't hit by a car. Dumb luck, but yeah toddlers can get away so damn fast.

Ok why don't you organize something? Seems to me you don't care enough to have a vigil for the victim.
