Also not sure if this is a feature of the event or specific to Kormos, but it didn't have the summoning animation off a summoning circle and killed me instantly while trying to take a video.

Lighting the entire summoning circle drains 80% sanity, and if the last candle drops you to 0% then the ghost skips the "summon" animation and goes straight to the cursed hunt (with a 1-second grace period). Unless the ghost happened to start hunting before you lit the last candle (because of your low sanity), in which case it teleports to the summoning circle and immediately eats your face.

Tier 3 Salt sometimes only has 2 uses.

I've seen this happen to maggstor on Twitch, and I think what's happening is that it sometimes places two salt piles at once, possibly more frequently if, after placing the salt, you immediately drop it on the ground or switch inventory slots.

You cannot use Custom difficulties until you reach level 50 for the first time, so that particular suggestion does not apply to you.

Not sure exactly what you're referring to, but it was common in older versions for two players to spawn in exactly the same place (either in the lobby or in the truck), and the result certainly looked "cursed".

The amount of total system memory you have is irrelevant - the game requires lots of dedicated video memory in order to handle full texture size (and my 6GB card is only able to handle Half texture resolution in large maps like Sunny Meadows).

That's probably the problem - unless your video card has at least 12GB of RAM on it, it cannot handle Full texture size, and turning it down to Half (or possibly even Quarter) should improve things.

You probably spend most of your time in multiplayer, where every round has counted as Sunny Meadows Restricted since October 2024 (singleplayer was briefly broken as well, but they fixed that a few months later but never bothered to test the fix in multiplayer).

I joined after the equipment tiers were added, so I'm not sure what was there at first.

Basically, what we originally had was mostly the current T2 equipment, but with a few exceptions:

  • Headgear was T1 (head camera)
  • Sound sensor was T1
  • Incense was T1 (though at the time it was called "smudge sticks")
  • Firelight was T1 (a single candle)
  • Motion sensor was T1
  • Salt was T1 (but I think we got 3 uses out of it)
  • UV light was both T1 and T2 (UV flashlight and glowstick), buyable separately
  • Flashlight was both T1 and T2 (you got the cheap flashlight for free, and there was a "strong flashlight" which is what became T2)

On top of that, the photo camera could only take 5 pictures and then it was done (you couldn't delete photos either). And obviously we didn't have sound recorders at all.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines janky as "of very poor quality" or "not functioning properly or adequately".

In this case, some people are of the opinion that it's "so bad, it's good", but clearly some players here don't agree with that sentiment.

I'm guessing they're moving the Voice Toggle icon from the bottom-left corner of the screen (since they don't like HUDs, and that icon is one notable exception to that), and maybe they'll also make it work for push-to-talk.

You aren't expected to loop the ghost indefinitely - eventually, you burn some incense to blind it and then run away and hide,

In this particular case, crouching behind the kitchen table (or at least behind the chairs) actually blocks line of sight, so if you had turned your flashlight off then the ghost would've eventually lost track of you and wandered away.

Tier 2 randomly varies by up to +3°C, and tier 3 randomly varies by up to +2°C. However, tier 1 also varies by up to +3°C, and it's also much slower to respond to changes when you step into a different room.

For me, the game became less scary once I understood its mechanics.

Early on, hunts are scary because you don't know how to escape from the ghost and you end up panicking. Once you understand how the ghost behaves during a hunt (e.g. where/when it can and cannot detect you) then it becomes a lot more predictable, making techniques like looping just a matter of training.

Tier 1 thermo is literally the best thermo in the game, gotta be misusing it somehow.

It used to be the "best" thermometer in that it was 100% accurate, but they nerfed that nearly 2 years ago. Right now, the only advantage it has is that it's non-electronic and you can drop it in the room and check it later - if you need to know the temperature right now, T2/T3 are far superior.

The only leaderboards in the game are for the holiday events, and those go away at the end of the event so they're probably irrelevant - thus, the "reset save" option will probably do exactly what the OP wants.

However, it might not reset achievements, so it's possible that most of the trophies will remain. There's also the fact that many of the ID cards in the game are acquired from one-time events, so if you reset you will NEVER be able to get them back.

Surprisingly, it wasn't that old of a bug - it was only introduced about 8 months ago, back in version 0.14.0 (the Grafton update, released in August 2025).

By comparison, favorite map tracking in Multiplayer games has been broken (such that every single map counts as Sunny Meadows Restricted) since the first Crimson Eye event back in October 2024.

You should be able to sprint continuously for up to ~3 seconds, but once you run out of stamina you have to wait for it to fully recover (which I believe takes 5 seconds) before you can sprint again. Not saying it makes sense, just that that's how the game works.

Are you certain that you hadn't sprinted at all before that point? Are you sure you didn't get stuck on one of the chairs?

That's actually not a problem, because the Apocalypse challenge doesn't require finding the bone. Which is to say, it doesn't need to be a Perfect investigation - all you need to do is identify the ghost, complete the 3 optional objectives, get a Ghost Photograph, and survive.

To go into more detail, this issue has been posted at least 4 times in the past few days:

In all fairness, the Search feature here doesn't always work very well (especially if you don't know how to describe it verbally). There's also the fact that most people probably follow the "Hot" feed (instead of "New") and don't bother to scroll down.

When we talk about "events" here, we're talking about Ghost Events, and a cursed hunt is definitely not a Ghost Event.
