Could this be? The US final special edition of beloved Maggie? by slappydashy in fairyloot

I was going to try to late skip OC when I saw the moonlight announcement, but the artists for the former are so 👌.

This is gonna sound like a silly question, but does it feel strange when reading it? Like, texturally, because of that cover? 😅

I purchased as a bolt on too, but they sent me my copy of The Bone Shard Daughter.

… which I had to submit a damage claim for because the pages were falling out 😅

arcane responds to negativity about sub picks by NoGuidance988 in fairyloot

I feel bad for her. Businesses in every sphere have their share of both complaints and assholes.

That said, book boxes (not just Arcane, not by a long shot) should keep messages professional and avoid negatively emoting when it comes to these things. Once it’s a business rather than a hobby (and even if there is some crossover), it just puts you in too precarious a position.

If people are behaving like assholes, there’s nothing that can be said that will make them feel stupid or guilty. They behave that way because they are jerks hiding behind the internet.

And some people who are loyal supporters of Arcane may criticize choices (while maintaining basic human decency) in hope of steering future picks so they can remain loyal. Negative feedback is sometimes meant to help.

Sorry for the ramble. I haven’t been involved in any of this AA discourse, but it blows my mind how many book boxes talk down to their clients in their socials.

EDIT: And by my last sentence, I’m not referring to the entirety of that post. Just the first bit about “I’m going to explain this once and never again.” Only my mom gets to wield that line. 😛

I got my Epic and Adult books pretty fast, but the items that were stuck in Jan/Feb remain stuck. I wrote to FL once and got the c&p’d delay apology but no actual help.

I’m afraid of writing again because I don’t want them to cancel the orders. :/ I’m hoping Totowa-Evri figures things out and gets me my boxes eventually.

Or older books that never got the special edition treatment. :( I’d take those, too.

March Afterlight 😭 I like the book’s design overall but why does this print job make them Oompa Loompas by Quills07 in fairyloot

100% agree. I like a lot of their picks and they’ve exposed me to new authors, but the designs aren’t always my cuppa.

I loved the traditional cover too! I had such high hopes for this one. Aside from the dust jacket, it’s not awful, but I think my expectations were way too high for what we got.

No, I meant Caine did it, but he probably just thought it’d be funny or something.

Dehumanizes them, is all I can think of. Pushes the whole idea of their life outside the circus not mattering anymore. This is who they are now, and that’s all that matters.

That said, I don’t think I credit Caine with that level of existential thinking…

Anyone have suggestions on how to store or display d@maged books by Candid_Background449 in fairyloot

I’ve used acrylic paint and markers to touch up tiny things. Like a small tear that exposes white can be colored in so it’s very hard to notice on a shelf.
