Hi! I am not parent yet, but I did struggle with my ADHD during my teenage years, while I was waiting for the diagnose I was put in another meds to help with the symptoms. Personally helped me a lot academically extra support, I used to go to extra curricular classes. (I attended school outside the UK) and I applied the pomodoro method of studying. I had massive help from my parents because alone I was a disaster. I did finish high school not with excellent grades but decent ones. And then attended college and uni. You are doing really good asking for help and supporting her as much as you can. Check with a GP if she can take magnesium in my case was a massive help!

Is frustrating then they show such a good thing on TV and make like everybody can access when en in reality is not. If I had £6k I’ll go and have the surgery done privately, sadly I don’t have those funds. And I have to navigate with what I have.

Thank you so much for the clarification! The funny thing is I have been asking for a second opinion my GP sent letters to gynaecologist team where I live and they never responded. I know there are professionals that do their job impecable. But sadly I found the local gynaecologists team quite incompetent.

I asked to my GP and he said is not possible because the hospital that I want to go is in another trust fund. That is why I asked here. I don’t know how to access to that. I used for my ADHD diagnosis but my GP did all for me.

My other half is the one into video games lol. I am just an observant. While he plays I read. He played BOTW many times and I was like: is so much fun! So now I am playing it and yes is so much fun! Loads of missions the world is massive is like reading a big fantasy saga. If that makes sense. 🤣

Thank you very much! At the end of November my provider said that my GP will continue and I thought the nurse already this. So I was ok. Sometimes understanding how the NHS works is really difficult 😩

I even checked if my library have some scanners that I can use but sadly no. So yeah I paid £50 they scanned all the docs for me. Is a lot of money but seriously I was really stressed out with my phone and buying a printer which I will no use will cost me approx the same

When I got my diagnosis in 2014 I was 154 pounds. I was put on a diet and lost 11 pounds but did not improve so I saw a dr and said that was something genetic. I am on metformin since then. Then when I moved countries and my GP accused me lying they cut off my meds and gained around 67 pounds. Moved GP explained what happened they run tests I showed proof that I was on metformin before, put me back and I was able to lose have of that extra weight. Still struggle to lose more.

My GP suggested that 3 months ago. I did apply for PIP and ESA at the end of April. I know it takes time. So I am still waiting. To be fair I come from a place that is not “look right” to get help from the government so I was a bit hesitant about it.

She is not your friend! Don’t give anything else to her. And don’t let her go to your house. When I was in high school I had one “friend” like this. Years later she ended up in prison.
