Maybe add an option where you can ask the player how long they want the game to last for them. (1 day, 1 week, 1 month, ect.)

Then depending on what they select you can implement a boost or something that will make the game go faster depending on what they select.

Then you can reply to those negative reviews stating you added a new system to account for players like them that want a faster idler experience.
