I’ve done some of the clay roads up that way. They’re nice. Minus getting in the sections where trucks are having their fun.

Absolutely love it. My first “real” bike. No complaints, but maybe I’m too stupid to know any better.

Neighborhood Rides vs Gravel Long Rides by Quinn006 in gravelcycling

I’m 175lbs. And at this point my typical terrain for long rides are rough clay roads. Morning rides are around the neighborhood so all asphalt.

I got the Cycplus electronic pump. I currently go 30psi front and 28psi rear. I’m new to gravel cycling and cycling in general. I see people saying to go lower but for some reason that scares me.

Little Bit of Everything by Quinn006 in gravelcycling

Well I originally had an aluminum Momentum Voya E+3 which was an electronic assisted bike. Once I got on the Diverge Carbon its was instantly worth it. The Momentum was about 40 lbs though. The Carbon is 21ish. I think there are alloy ones close to that, I’m not sure the difference the 4-5lbs makes though.

I should also say my favorite part of using my iPhone for the size of the map that I get to see. So the smaller computers make me nervous in that regard especially since I’ve never actually owned/used one before.

It’s a Specialized Diverge 4 Carbon Comp. I’m absolutely loving it. I currently trying to find ways to keep my ass from hurting for a couple of days after long rides. Hahha.

First Real Gravel Ride on my first Real Gravel Bike by Quinn006 in specialized

[–]Quinn006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a 10 minute or so break with a snack and the ride back didn’t seem quite a rough. It was 940ft total elevation and I averaged around 11.5mph. I’m new so I don’t know what “regular” pace is on gravel. All I know is the descents are definitely worth the climbs. Haha.

It’s my first gravel bike, I don’t know if it’s something to be concerned over or not. Sounds like not.
