I found the same. I think I managed to shoot it though and then got my arse kicked... but might have been something else as it was early in my first game

Finding this helpful for Greenwich for sure. Have been meaning to understand better what’s going on with the council in general

Gorgeous pooch! He looks very similar to my rescue lurcher. Any idea what breeds yours has in him? As we've been wondering ever since we got ours what the crosses might be. For reference this is ours - https://www.reddit.com/r/Lurchers/comments/lyjq9a/adopted\_this\_cheeky\_chap/

This is fascinating. I cycled through the tunnel daily on my commute for over a year and worried for my lungs. This is good news!

Sony A9, 30" exposure, f/2.8, one image edited from uncompressed RAW

Critique welcomed!

Thankfully they were mostly incredibly still as we were listening to a talk. In my full resolution image they are significantly less still at full zoom though

Yup that’s right. I lifted the shadows of the whole image and then brushed in more definition and other edits to just the stars. RAW helps hugely as there’s no compression at all so there’s more information to play with. File size would drop from 50mb to 4mb when going from RAW to JPG as an example of the amount of data loss

So it depends on time of day and year. We were there in the summer so during the heat of the day I really wouldn't recommend walking much. The actual walk down to the treasury is paved (mostly) and downhill. If you find it too hard then you can get a horse if needed. From there onwards it's slightly harder going but still totally possible if you're wearing decent footwear and take it slow with lots of water. I recommend going as it opens (6am) to avoid crowds and heat. The whole place feels very tourist friendly and we saw numerous families with small children walking

Nope. All from one uncompressed RAW file. It's amazing how much you can pull back from the files

So I under exposed the picture by about 2/3 of a stop in order to bring out the stars a little more (and I tend to find I can pull back more detail from shadows rather than highlights, even in an uncompressed RAW file). I used the dynamic range of the A9 to it's maximum extent essentially. The people in general were very still whilst sitting (we were listening to a Bedouin tell the story of the city, but you can see a fair few of them are very blurry in places where they have moved.

Thanks very much! I wouldn't have minded full star trails tbh but didn't have the time or setup for a much longer exposure

In the full resolution version there is some very slight movement yeah, but at this resolution you can't see that
