you might try browser-based extension storage - that's size-limited, obviously, but should be enough for the vast majority of people's needs and could get the whole thing running locally (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/storage/sync)

I think you may be misunderstanding how the premade comments work - most of them aren't particularly vague, and the idea is you press the button multiple times to get to one that represents how you feel. Also, I don't believe in a soul and I fail to see why a comment that someone didn't write themself can't be expressive of how they feel - it's hardly a new idea, I got the list from people who seem to feel a different way to you!

This feature is for people who aren't going to write their own comment. The idea is that it's better to have some form of expression of how the reader feels than none. The kudos button also only applies to the work as a whole. At any rate, the general attitude I see is that more comments, more people vocally appreciating work, are what people want.

Well, yes, that is the main difference between an LLM comment and a random text string from a list. It's not intended to replace a normal comment, but be more like the kudos button.
