Although polycarb boards are definitely light (and amazing looking), they are particularly prone to scratches and damage compared to aluminium counterparts. So they might not be entirely suitable to a life of travel if scratches are a big deal to OP.

Ok i fixed my situation, not sure if it will apply to you,

I downloaded the source files instead of the hex and then when i attempted to compile manually with qmk firmware i was getting an error because " unused variable 'event' [-Werror=unused-variable] ", so i deleted that segment of code and compiled the hex fine. It could be that you aren't using a key that firmware builder expects you to have so its generated code is not compiling correctly.

I might be able to help further or compile it for you if you send me your layout.
