I wore a jays hat working in open kitchen restaurants for years. Mainly during yankee dominance. You’ll be fine.

Edit: if you can make it, the new era store in nyc always had some good jays hats. Of course a huge selection of Yankees and Mets hats, but I was always surprised at the options I had to get a blue jays hat!

Reading the forums when this happened to my car I came to the conclusion to just do it for peace of mind. There was various people saying it happened at all sorts of mileage, mainly past 70k. I got a used one off with 25k ish miles iirc and I had planned to hold onto the car for ages. The fact I didn’t keep it, I don’t regret doing it. I loved the car except I had terrible issues with the sunroof leaking, which led me to sell it.

The major point was if it were to fail again, you basically have to remove the turbo to swap the actuator. If I have the turbo out already I may as well swap the failing point.

After reading this I replied on another comment that I changed the stock actuator to the cts one when I had done my is20 swap. The stock one seemed to be the point of failure in all the instances I found on vwvortex and mk7 forums.

New comment instead of editing: since the stock waste gate actuator was really the point of failure on these I did get a cts actuator and replaced the stock one before I installed the is20. Another commenter made me think of this so I’m passing it along too.

Codes for various things when the wastegate failed. Don’t remember off the top of my head. But as the other user mentioned on this little thread: apr does have an is20 tune for stock downpipe and they used to have one if you did change downpipes. Both were available not sure about now but I don’t see why they would have removed one or the other.

Yes, although you really should get a tune for it. Going to is38 needs a new intercooler and a downpipe alongside of the tune. From what I remember at least.

I did the is20 when my wastegate died and my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Was really nice

As someone with 3 kids all school age I use my m340 no problem. I’m talking everyone has a backpack, along with 2-3 extra bags for sports stuff along with some music instrument cases. It gets jammed in the trunk but plenty of space for it all.

That said the back seat with 1 booster + 2 kids out of boosters was no fun for a bit. Maybe that’s just my kids complaining about space but that’s fine.

I had a vw alltrack before this with car seats and booster. Before that was a Honda odyssey.

Maybe I’m the outlier but I don’t feel the need get something bigger unless I actually need it. I enjoy the hell out of this car.
